Come to Scotland we get like 120+ mph this is nothing. England thinks 20+ MOHs is bad

Don't talk crap, even in Scotland 120mph is rare (probably once in every 30 years) and even then only in the remotest most exposed places imaginable or high up in the mountains etc.. 120mph is considered severe even in America (it would be infact on a par with a Category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale which is classified as a major hurricane). If all you Scotts can do is bitch about how much worse your weather is to us English then piss off basically lol. One thing I do know is not many storms in the history of Scotland can compare to the almighty fury of the 1987 storm which hit South-East England the hardest, you only have to look at the devastating damage that caused to come to that conclusion. The winds in this video I'd estimate are gusting between 50-70mph which for most people living within the UK is a pretty big storm esp for such inland regions.

There was so many warnings and panic over this storm for nothing... Here near Norwich, the night was calm and without any more than a breeze, then we had 1 or 2 gusts of about 50-60mph in the morning and then it just rained!

post 2: Good vid, I like hurricane vids, search hurricane SANDY on youtube, that's a major hurricane....The electric in my town was down for a week, I had a generator but, it get's expensive to run every day...at least $20 US dollars a day vs public electric which is probably a $2.00 US dollars a day but, when we don't have electric, we'll pay any price!

That looks like 50mph wind gusts, that would be considered....in the middle of category 1 hurricane rating system, over here in the US east coast (Connecticut)....a breezy day. If that was a cat 3 or higher hurricane, those trees across the street would bend to the point that the tops would be close to the ground and those garbage cans would be flying. Last year,,,,today hurricane SANDY wiped out most of the east coast, coastal towns/cities and that was close to a category 5 hurricane at times!

We had a storm of near enough Category 3 status here in England in 1987, luckily I was a baby sleeping sound in my cot so don't remember it but my dad told me that the conifer trees at the back of our garden where bending so far over the tops where reaching the ground.

@ daredevil7442 It was way over 50mph, we had gusts of 65-80mph recorded widely and 90-100mph in the English channel, surely that's a pretty big storm even for most Americans unless you count those effected by hurricanes?!....
