I think there is a long standing stigma with the motor trade from a long time ago that if you’re not very intelligent go and work on cars/lorries as they used to be very basic and easy to repair. Obviously now its quite the opposite but people’s attitude hasn’t changed and it’s still seen as a basic job anyone could do.

It's like the "If you haven't got a job - Here's and HGV licence" from the jobcentre who'd get them into the driving seat if noone else would employ them. Thing is HGV driving is demanding and has a skill level some can't do. Agreed. It's and attitude that has put them where they are now.

The modern day way to repair a vehicle is plug in a computer first and look for information before looking for the bonnet catch and having a visual look instead and pre checks / investigation

Even though I really enjoyed the trailer tool box videos, I’ve realised that I do enjoy these just as much you just talking about relevant subjects, from a Volvo tech in Bristol

Watching your trailer video's i really respect your work ethic and willingness to graft in a dirty cold environment. (you are like my dad and his generation - now 75). This is from someone that likes getting dirty with cars, but has a day job in IT sitting in a cosy warm clean and bright office drinking tea, or at the moment doing that from home. I can see why the trailer fitting industry is in crisis. The wages from what you imply seem to be rubbish compared to the hard work you do and the skill required. Im also shocked with the wages when you have to supply your own tools. when you look at the price tool box and then all the tools. some of your individual tools are costing nearly a weeks wages. for me this should be provided by the company. what young person is going to want to se their starting wages sucked into tools. for me to go and do a back breaking job everyday i would need to be paid very well to compensate, and i can see why most people these days dont. With the western world going the way it is (pc\wokeness\feelings\equility) i cant see many people choosing a career that is physically demanding everyday, dirty, cold, and can be physically dangerous. Regards posting things being expensive, not so. i used hermes to clear a load of old stuff on ebay and they have been very reliable and not that expensive, upto 5kg is about £6. i box the items up and drop down the local corner shop. while you have the subscribers (from your trailer videos as you admit), use it, get the Chinese companies to send you stuff, do a simple review video and flog. I dont know how it works but you maybe able to get them to send you a couple. then sell on ebay etc. I always watch all the review videos on youtube when im looking to buy something. regards weight lifting, i do a bit myself, as a 41 year old i can easily deadlift 200kg+ plus raw without straps and belts, if you want a strong back then when at the gym, do squats deadlift and overhead pressing while standing. these will give strong abs and back. you right about the abs, they counter the back muscles. I dont directly train abs. they have come from never using a belt and going heavy on lifts (1-3 reps, aswell as normal 8 reps range).

I've been meaning to write up an idea for a while. Initially your Land Rover videos got me interested in your channel and I still refer back to them every now and then (e.g. your ovality and taper one) before tackling some area on my TVR. My car has the 3.9L V8 serpentine EFI engine and there are surprisingly few videos out there on it for general engine service work. There's some on the short nose but few where the oil pump is run off the crank. You'd think Rimmers or Atlantic British would do lots of videos on this engine but no. They focus more on the Disco II engines and newer. Anyway how about getting a V8 engine from a breakers and show us a proper refurb over a series of video using full engine rebuild kit from somewhere like Rimmers or a local company that'd like to sponsor you. Either serp or non-serp would be good. I bet there'd be a lot of TVR (Chimaera, Griffith, Wedge and V8S) and kit-car owners who would be interested plus Disco I and early Defender owners too. If you got a decent amount of interest then perhaps other classic engines might be worth a look too. You've got a great teaching style and a lot of knowledge to pass across to us. Hope to see you do more tinkering soon.

Keep them videos up, what about review of trailers? Like Basben, lecitrailer, they probably want someone to do free advertising, and you have trailer hungry viewers 😅
