Ukrainian cities suffered another barrage of missiles on Monday with dozens killed and a children’s hospital among the locations hit, UN humanitarians have said.
A wave of deadly strikes hit several cities across Ukraine today (8 Jul) killing and injuring scores of civilians, including children.
Kyiv City suffered from repeated strikes, which impacted several residential homes and a private hospital and caused heavy damage to another children’s hospital in the centre while children were receiving treatment.
Rescuers, hospital staff and volunteers are clearing the rubble and searching for people trapped under debris. Humanitarian organizations are helping to move patients to other facilities, providing psychological support and assisting with other urgent needs.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Ukraine strongly condemned today’s deadly strikes by the Russian Armed Forces, stressing that hospitals enjoy special protection under international humanitarian law.
