Ich war früher oft mit meiner Oma in Polen Schlesien war ihre Heimat aus der sie während dem Krieg gehen musste wir haben nur Wärme und Herzlichkeit von den Polen erfahren. Meine Oma durfte sogar in ihr Haus und sich ihr Haus noch mal ansehen. Das war sehr großherzig es wäre uns nichts mehr angegangen und keiner hätte uns erlauben müssen das Haus zu betreten. Und hat mit dieser Familie eine lange Freundschaft verbunden.

That little girl and many others her age will forget much as they get older of having to flee, but I bet one of the memories they will hold is the man handing out lollipops. The positive side of all of this is that you at least know your background. Some children adopted into Western countries never even found out that they were Slavs, Poles, Ukrainians, and Russians. Some children and even infants have been kidnapped and taken to foreign parents. You didn't have a good father, but you did. Some would give anything to know where they came from.
