Ukrainian drones have damaged a Russian air force missile factory in the Voronezh region, which is located 190 miles from the front lines. CCTV footage shot close to the factory shows tracer fire from anti-air defences streaking through the night sky before an explosion lights it up. Ukraine’s military intelligence agency GUR said the attack damaged the main production facilities of the factory which makes air-launched cruise missiles of the kind being used to attack Ukrainian cities. The factory also makes long-range air-to-air missiles of the kind being used to take down Ukrainian jets. It is just the latest Ukrainian drone strike to target Russian weapons factories located long distances behind the frontlines as Kyiv tries to wear down Putin’s war machine. In early April, Ukraine used three remote control light aircraft to blow up a factory making Shahed drones around 745 miles inside Russia in the longest-range attack to date. Similar drones were also used to attack an oil refinery on the same date. Before that, Ukraine used a different kind of drone dubbed Lyutyy to attack oil refineries which finance Putin’s war machine. The goal is to starve Russia of resources used to fight the war while Ukraine takes time to reinforce and rearm before going back on the offensive. #russia #ukraine #war
