The village of Dymer, Vyshhorod district, is located 50 kilometers north of Kyiv. From the first week of March, it was occupied by the Russian military, who looted local houses and set up base at a local factory.
Also, the Russians took the locals captive. Among them werw Pavlo and his friend Sasha. All because Pavlo helped the Ukrainian military, and the occupiers found evidence on his phone.
The Russians came to Dymer with expired food provided by their state. They looted houses and shouted "Shucher!" (Look out!) when they heard the locals. After passing through Belarus from their native Omsk, they acknowledged that Ukrainians live much better. And also that Ukrainians are good at fighting.
Pavlo and Sashko survived. They were severely beaten in captivity, especially when the Russians saw that they were not scared. Kadyrivets threatened to cut off his head, and then shot Pavlo in the leg. A few days later, both were taken out and dropped off in the middle of a nearby village.
On April 2, Kyiv regional authorities announced that the region had been liberated from the Russians. Our journalists talked to Pavlo about the captivity, the mood among the Russian military and attempts to persuade them to lay down their arms.
