Ive been considering the surgery for tunnel release mainly because I am limited to 40 PT visits per year and I have injuries in knees, back, shoulders, chest, and hips. So my main concern was if PT dosnt help the nerve issue, and I end up needing the surgery anyway and will have to do PT anyway, why not just do surgery straight off the bat so I dont use up valuable PT sessions. But I will give PT 2-4 weeks and see how I feel. I just dont want to wait too long before I lose function in my fingers permanantley.

LOOK UP BONE BREATHING its an ancient Tai Chi practice and I've heard anecdote of an woman with back problems similar to yours who corrected herself after maintaining this practice every day for 3 years. It may be a long time but definitely worth it and you'll likely enjoy the gradual improvements as time goes on. Also look up Joe Dispenza for self heaing with the mind. He has a book about it called Becoming Supernatural. This guy fixed his back fully through thought alone after getting hit by a truck and refusing surgery. You can find his interviews on youtube. All the exercises are great! Thank you so much! My issues with my ulnar nerve started out after hitting my funny bone really hard on a door knob then shortly thereafter on the same day I hit it again as I walked past my chair and hit the corner of it. Either that day or the next day my hand would not stop with spasms shortly above the Guyon's canal below my pinky finger for 3-5 hours straight. Soon after I felt pain in my elbow and It became excruciating painful to sleep at night. I would feel the nerve off and on like a heartbeat while trying to sleep. I had muscle wasting soon after. I noticed just picking up a glass of water took more effort than usual and when I was in the shower I had lost quite a bit grip strength when grabbing on to the shower bar. My ring and pinky finger became shaped like a claw and I lost all feeling in both fingers. What has helped for me: splinting my arm at night on top of a pillow (sleeping on back or on front) while keeping arm straight (I used to love sleeping on my side with my arms folded but its not a good idea for recovering), ulnar nerve flossing exercises two times a day posted on Healthline, Exercises in the video above every other day with the recommended amount of repetitions suggested, TheraBand flex bar(green) exercises 2-3 a day. 8-15 repetitions per set, 4 sets a total of 120-180 repetitions of each exercise per day for me : grip strengthening, wrist flexion/extension strengthening, wrist pronation strengthening, wrist supination strengthening, wrist ulnar deviation strengthening, wrist radial deviation strengthening, elbow oscillation, hand soft tissue mobilization, finger extension mobilization, finger flexion mobilization, elbow flexion mobilization, Tyler Twist, Reverse Tyler Twist. My ulnar nerve has made a ton of progress in months of this routine. I can almost feel my pinky and ring finger completely even at the tips of the fingers. Try what works for you and I hope this helps if your two fingers became a claw. P.S. Rest and determination is extremely important to help with recovery.

Just wanted to chime in and say thanks for this video! I tripped 6 weeks ago while jogging injuring my wrist and hand (in the outter two fingers). Doc had me xray'd twice (@1d and 11days) both came clean so they put it in a removable cast and said dunno. 6 weeks later I still can't put any real weight on it so I figured maybe some exercises would help. That tai chi move stretches in just a certain way that it hurts but a good hurt (like relieving pressure hurt). So again I just wanted to say thanks!

The plate exercise kills, but I’m sure it’s helping. I *know* the glasses one is helping. I was diagnosed with tendinitis in my left wrist - shooting pain up my pinky and down my forearm - and tried physical therapy, (gentle) strength training, and chiropractic care with little change. I’ve been in pain for almost 8 months now, and I’ve seen more relief in the last 4 days from the glasses exercise than 6 weeks of going to the chiropractor. 🙌

I prescribed him these exercise to be done twice daily for a week & boom! all his symptoms showed a 100% improvement.Thank you very much

However, discussing w all manner of health care professionals, me being very specific about what my issues are and what functionality i'm lacking, its like no one wants to listen. even the hand therapist i went to gave me exercises that haven't done anything for my primary issue. i've never heard of nerve flossing before, but it makes total sense, and after watching this and trying it, i can tell already it is going to help. thank you so much for posting. i wish i live closer.

I suffered a crush ulnar nerve injury 10 years ago by leaning on my elbow on a table for 2 hours while talking on a phone at work. I was unable to feel part of my hand and couldn't move some of my fingers at all. A neurologist suggested me leaving my elbow straight for 6 months, which I did, and if it did not correct itself then move the nerve to the inside of the elbow. Crazy! I didn't get better for 6 months doing nothing. I eventually bought some glove with elastic bands that was designed to strengthen the muscles in the hand. I started to force myself to be better but I still could not do anything useful and this was my dominant hand. One day, after 7 months I randomly decided to pick up some 10 lb weights and did 1 set of bicep curls. Next day my problem was completely resolved including feeling and strength. I wish the volume of information to get better was around back then as it is now. I lost a lot of time waiting for it to get better on its own.

In general terms I would say give them a try, just make sure that you don't work through sharp pain. Even doing a little may help. On the other hand, please listen to you physicians advice, I can make recommendation on individual cases with a full examination. As your doctor if these exercises are appropriate for you. Cheers
@kamikan22

just try to reach somewhere close to the mask until you feel stretch, then do those 10 repetitions while remembering to breathe in and out the good news are that as you gain the flexibility needed for the entire mask you are gaining a lot of room for the nerve also find stuff to correct posture and forward head, you may focus a lot on where the pain is but usually where the pain is created you dont feel anything until it is too late because the constant tension on muscles make so that you dont feel direct pain there(for example, you dont normally feel pain on legs muscles, but go and press them a little)

Now its Monday, I am back at work and my right arm is now tightening. I googled it, and it led to ulnar never. I don't know if this is actually what I have cuz the pain kinda goes right to my hand and stops. It Honestly feels like something is hardening inside the arm. I am typing all day and my arms are rested on the desk.. could this just be due to not moving arms ? Because I know when my leg goes to sleep it feels crazy, this arm pain isn't the same feeling.

My shoulder/arm/hand problems have been getting worse and worse over the years. I love to be outside and run and walk, hate sitting at a keyboard 24/7 in the same position; the latter is obviously not what my body wants either. Some of these exercises... I can't even do their starting position, but things were much worse, and I am slowly making progress.

wow, those first two flossing exercises honestly instantly relieved most pain/tingling in my ring and pinky finger. I usually don't comment on videos but thank you for posting this Kinetic Health! I will be passing this knowledge along to friends and family who ask what to do about this issue.

Hi Nate: I can't comment on specific cases without doing an examination. But in general terms we often have our patients perform these exercise 3 to 4 times per day until symptoms settle down. Cheers

03:27 - Sam, why are you trying to kill me??? this hurt sooo much, i couldn't even finish it lol i guess i'll have to start with some of the other stretches first and work up to this. also, today i found out that i can't do the mask anymore, i definitely used to be able to do it with no problem. i guess i have a lot of work to do

Had nerve condition 3 weeks 80% numbness, muscle wasting in r. hand . Saw GP, then Spec. They failed to recommend exercises and habit reform . They pushed the big buttons , injections and then after 6 weeks elbow/hand surgery . I am 2 weeks out of surgery , and now wish I had had the advice and method of doing exercises from the start . I saw therapy people and doctors and it is amazing how little they know except to get the knife out.

Excellent ulnar nerve flossing exercises. I tried those exercises after experiencing numbness on my pinky. After two months, the numbness was gone. Thank you!

Thank you for this. Unfortunately I have short T-Rex arms and small hands so I couldn't do the mask or the plate fully which made the movements hurt my shoulders but I will keep practicing with the rest.

Thank you. My ring finger is freezing and ulnar nerve seems to be the culprit. I'll try these exercises, hopefully it'll get better.

I get a little bit of tingling in the pinkie, but mostly what I am getting is severe pain along the outside edge of my left hand from the wrist bone all the way to the base of the pinkie. When it first was happening, it felt like something popped out of place, and it would just fix itself randomly. Now it just hurts and never pops back in place. I don't know if it's ulnar nerve entrapment or not. Guess I should go to the chiro and see what he says.

Fantastic video! This helped me about a year ago, and I had forgotten the entire issue I had until I just started having the same problem at my inner left elbow the other day. I realized how much it seemed to change when I did some stretches, and remembered this video. INCREDIBLE relief after just doing the exercises a few times!! BRAVO!

I have Ulnar nerve syndrom since 2 years after a health anxiety crisis when I was googling all day long on my bed with the elbows flexed for Tinnitus. Neurologist laugh at me when I asked for a EMG for this specific nerve. He told me it's impossible to have in on both arm ... Well yes dumb***. I hope I don't have scare tissu and will try those exercice for a couple of weeks. I have a very mild pain on both side and sensitivity (needles) on both last finger (pinky & third). I will report in 1 months if I see some improvement.

Great video! People who wake up with numbness in their arm might want to consider sleeping with a brace that prevents the arm from bending. Thanks again for the great exercises!

I have been suffering from ulnar nerve entrapment for about a month now. After doing these exercises it helps me for a time being but then it comes back. I do not have any pain just numbness. Should I see a doctor or wait a few more weeks? Thanks in advance

Tried this today. Hopefully this works. I started with this three weeks ago after using a walker from an ankle surgery. I think I have a nerve entrapment. My ring finger and pinky are numb and my elbow side hurt when I put pressure. Feels swollen. My shoulder also hurts. I think its from resting my body on my hands while walking on this walker. Thank you for the info. I hope this really helps 🙏
