Yep ... in an interview, Schnauss said that in his childhood, he heard this wonderful music in his head (apparently) and he now tries to recreate what he heard (or tries to come as close as he possibly can)... ...I believe: more of us may have had similar experiences, but maybe we forgot them - the sound awakens those memories again in us and this is why it feels so warm, comfortable and "hugging the world" like. And this is why only Schnauss can do it in this extraordinary way: because he is one of the few who _remember_ the sounds AND have the capability to re-create them.

I read in an interview that Ulrich said since his childhood he has a special kind of music in his mind, an idea, an everything he did and does was a process of rapprochement to this idea. Well, but when I hear this, I must say I like it very much, it sounds so "schnaussy", very unique and so familiar, but it's nothing really new. It's the similar style like in the last album, but more freshly and a bit different. A real progress hasn't happened. But the interview was from 2010, maybe he has already reached what he meant as a child.

Is it really important to produce all the time something new? music is not a commercial product meant to dissipate our boredom. Listen to "illusory sun" and negative sunrise. Don't you feel there is something , maybe not new, but still different, furthering further...

Most interesting and new Schnauss creates together with Jonas Nunk. Bit different but still very Schaussy. Even very similar style in almost every song he made still unique. Unbelievable but I still listening very first albums not can get enough. Maybe all magic is in synthesizers he using plus talent?

I discovered this song while rereading The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever and for me it conjures up images of the wild magic from his white gold wedding ring being unleashed to wreak it's havoc upon those around him. Coincidentally, I also discovered Schnauss's song _Stars_ (kzitem.info/news/bejne/w3-Ez5-IgYOqbKg ) which pretty much embodies the core feelings and tone of the entire series. I'm currently slowly working through Schnauss's entire discography to see if I can find any other pieces by him that also fit in with the themes and scenes of the series. Schnauss's style fits so perfectly with what the author, Stephen R. Donaldson, was trying to convey in those books. While I'm fairly certain that I'll find more, even if I don't I'm still immensely happy that I discovered this artist! :)

Christine: Love the wildly humorous 90's song reference. Your whole comment was great. My taste in music, while always huge and diverse, has gotten even more so with time. That is one of the points of music, to discover different parts of ourselves, especially our spirits, and to identify with others on Earth a bit more through these amazing bits of artistry. Ulrich hasn't exactly been on the radio in many parts of the world, so he wasn't easy for me to find, either. Luckily, the radio station here existed long enough for me to hear him and become a huge fan of his, as well as appreciate more completely the genre he represents.

The aesthic the beat matched with the boucy bass in the verse gives is just so good, inspiring even. I'm suprised he is capable of such a successful upbeat bassline since almost all his other stuff is very downtempo. The bass is even pizzicato sounding, which is probably why it works as well as it does, and that slide in snare *_*. I'm not even mentioning the pitch shift chorus because I probably know more thatn anyone that pitch shifts like that are a quick way to inject pure magic straight into it followed by a flighty section returned back to the origional pitch. And 80s zeitgeist is best zeitgeist.
