Undoubtedly the hardest time I had to beat since the E1M1, clocking in at 5500 attempts, which doesn't include at least additional 40 hours I spent practicing individual segments. 2:14 (previous record by Looper and Brooke) in itself is insanely good time for this level, lowering it by 3 seconds is practically a miracle and I don't even considered the fact, that I botched up the final part a bit, could've been probably 2:20.
The biggest bottleneck in this level is the red key part. I used the same strat as Looper, meaning that I blew up the barrel, hope, that the imps behind infight with pinky, snipe the pinky from below the lift and kill the rest before the monsters lower the lift. Unfortunately it's highly inconsistent, like 10 different things can go wrong and usually I either leave quickly or the run is basically dead.
Combine this with the fact, that the monsters wander around the level unpredictably, with no way to kill them on the route. The most notorious is the long blue corridor or the lift leading up to the yellow key. It's more of a gut feeling than statistic, but only about 20% of exits result in 100% kills. I've managed to get 2:11 four times, before this successful run.
Since I haven't gotten any 2:10 exit before this, I believe this is my ceiling for this level. I was so desperate at one point, that I even learned how to do SR50 and incorporate it into some parts of the run, which I didn't use at all in any of previous levels I speedran.
