Kazama is probably one of the best professional drifters that adapts to any chassis he is put behind, look at the wheel base difference between the S13 Silvia and the JZX Chaser, and still pulls away from Orido and Tsuchiya! SKILLS

@EvoPogo Yeah, especially Keiichi Tsuchiya, the king of all drifting and Kunimitsu Takahashi, the creator of all drifting techniques in the 1970's. That's right, they can either drift a Nissan Skyline GTS/GTR RS3, Subaru Impreza, Toyota Supra or AE86/Trueno, Mazda RX-7/RX-7 FD, any car they can drift with.

also, not in this case obviously, but sometimes the tracks are wide enough for people to be able to pass on the inside corners if given a car's length of space to get through, thats why ppl try to hug the insides of the corners, to prevent others behind them from passin

@EkkuZakku the reason being is that when u power over the first time ur rear tires shuld lose traction so ur car is now full trottle at an angle. this reason being that the road is so narrow that they have to constantly slow the drift and make sure they wont hit a side. back in Osaka Japan i use to go out to drift with friends. its the same ordeal and i had to learn this techniech hard way. (crashed my Skyline GT-T)

Oh yeah, I do feather the throttle now that I think about it, just not the way these guys do. I actually experimented with it a bit and it does help in some turns. There's one opening radius turn that I have a bit of trouble in, when I floor the throttle through the whole turn (like I feel I should since it opens up so much), I always drift to the outside of the turn and I have to slow down near the end to keep from going off. By pumping the throttle I can keep speed and angle the whole way.

for me its to keep the car from spinning out and to control the angle, cause yes smashing the gas will do it but then again u need to understand there drifting on narrow roads that frequently change in elevation so your going to have to constantly keep the car in check more then you would drifting in a parking lot or somthing

Tsuchiya is the real thing.. being fast in pass doesnt always have to be drifting.. mix of drift and grip.. why drift when its barely a corner and be faster when u grip? Why grip around a tight corner when you can take it faster with a drift? Both have their own applications if you wanna be fast.. and that is mister trsuchiya with a highly advanced skill..

Can anybody knowledgeable in technique tell me why they pump the throttle like that? I would guess to unsettle the car and get more angle, but with my experience, gunning the throttle usually adds angle well enough. I like to think I know a lot about cars and racing, but I'm just stumped at this.
