I’m fixing to change the subject for a second,,, I have a wonderful husband but once upon a time that wasn’t the case. I’m so happy to see a man so considerate and be so much a gentleman to his wife!!! The world needs more men like you and my wonderful husband!!! People, women and young men both, need to see the care and thoughtfulness shown between the two of you. This is more than gardening. I love gardening, but I don’t know if y’all realize it but y’all are teaching more than you are intending. Keep it up. I think y’all are inspirational!!!

That's an awesome coop. I always expect the best from you and Nancy. What did you decide to do about a chicken hospital? 🐔 + 🏥. Sometimes over or more get sick and they need to be segregated. Also, there are chicken meds and feeds that you store to keep safe. How many months worth of feed do you store? Would lived a follow up on your chicken coop. Take care.

You might consider not keeping feed and water in the building to discourage vermin. Additionally you might consider some catch bins under the roosts to help cut cleaning frequency and for composting the chicken manure. One last thing would be to possibly add an automatic door to the best box area so they can enter there once the coop opens without you having to open the middle door also would make the trip to lay shorter allowing them to stay outside more with the large separation between roost and nest you will probably find that they will lay frequently in the roosting floor. Also with a large area you may also find that they will find nesting areas in the yard

Wow, what chicken would be happy to live there, they'll happily be popping those eggs out in no time lol lol. Well I've been studying but still don't have a coop. Passing something I have learned thus far. Since Father lets things sleep in winter, chickens don't lay much in winter, lots of folks make them go against nature forcing them to endure LIGHT in their roost wherein they'll keep laying which shortens their life span. Have you learned the decades old method yet on storing your eggs long term? Its called water glassing. Some homesteads are teaching it with pickling lime, one ounce per quart of water in a 5 gal bucket, they say some folks have had them last up to two years. The eggs of course cannot be washed, they need that bloom on them and no poo. tc ttyl Can't wait to see when you bring in the chickens. I'm so excited for you folks lol Can't wait till I get some too. How many are you getting? Hens for laying and meat birds? What kind did you choose and are you going into business by selling them cause thats a BIG place for them for just a hobby type thing. tc

I have a silly question. Have y'all ever thought about having a chicken sit your quail eggs? I'm debating on getting a couple silkies to be a nature's quail incubator. The quail won't set their own eggs but silkies are said to be a very broody hens. I can only have 4 hens and no rooster so quail are my main source of eggs. But a hen can sit on 2 dozen quail eggs at a time.

Hi, I’m wondering if you put rabbit wire around the chicken coop and run to stop critters from digging under the fence? I haven’t watched all of the chickens videos yet but what I’ve seen it’s beautiful, I believe if your going to raise animals for food than we should make there time here on earth as pleasant as possible, it’s good for the animal and it’s good for us because it makes us more benevolent to the sacrifice they are making for us. Am I right or does that sound crazy?

Hi there, I watched one of your videos when you had just picked up eggs from post office. It was very helpful. I was mostly impressed how friendly you were and that you are Believers! Amazing. I just bought a small Poulty started kit and have it ready to go. I got 18 eggs from a friend, but it looks like non of the 18 made it. Yesterday was lockdown and I only have 4 in it and they dont look very promising? I kept the temp about 100* consistantly. one day it got down to 93 for some reason. Ive kept water in it as well? where did you order your chicks from? how many days does it take and how much per chick? Thank you so much for all your help. Gary Carpenter

May I ask, how many chickens are you planning on having? That is quite an operation. Will they be for eggs only or you you intend to raise some for meat as well? From what I recall from growing up on a farm, you could easily handle 40 to 50 hens with the facilities you have, but unless you cull them annually your gorgeous hatching and fledging rooms will sit idle for long periods of time.
