I remember living 6 months in Oklahoma. I hope I never have to go back there again. I live in Florida now.

In what part of Oklahoma did you live?

I have nothing against Oklahoma, except for the fact that it's the Tornado King State. Not for me!!

Thanks for sharing, Jim. That is a concern which comes up often, although we technically see fewer tornadoes than Texas (the second most populous state in the U.S.). Fortunately, we have the best meteorologists in the country and excellent warning systems. I’m curious, what part of the country are you in?

@BenFreemanHomes We live in Northwestern Iowa along the Missouri River. We can get tornadoes, too, but nothing like Central and Eastern Iowa. It seems like Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas are always under fire.

That’s a beautiful part of the country. I’ve been up that way a few times.

@BenFreemanHomes Right now, we're under about 12" of snow, with more on the way. Maybe Oklahoma is a good choice after all. We've been to Oklahoma City and the Memorial. The kids loved the amusement park. I do have to say that the rest areas along the Interstate highway are not very good when compared to ours up here 🙂

Oof! 12” of snow is roughhhh! I’m not sure I could deal with that. 😂 I hear you on the roadside rest stops (although a handful have recently been updated). We tend to stop for bathroom breaks at the big truck stops-Love’s, OnCue, and QuikTrip around here.
