Thanks, I was surprised to see this and wouldn't want to do one for myself.... I'd feel like a scab. But if people want to chip in they can and I'll get a new drone soon. Also the drone I lost was only a Mavic mini which costs $600 to replace rather than the set target but if it reaches the target I'll just upgrade

I love the drone shots, the scale is incredible. Without the drone views the incredible size of the rock cliffs which is a big part of your videos would be lost. I just found your channel this evening and I assure you I find nothing boring. When I was a young man living near the west coast in California USA I used to really enjoy fishing off the rocks and beach. I eventually took up scuba diving but over time I started getting freaked out about great whites that inhabit the area. I moved inland to Montana and miss the ocean but I sure don’t miss all the crazy people. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us tiny balls folk. :)

@@johnwoods1247 Hey partner! I ran away in the spring of 1989 after the so called assault rifle ban in Santa Clara County, San Jose. With the stroke of a pen they made me a felon, two weeks later I was gone. I’ll give you a little back story. Patrick Purdy was arrested seven times for felony weapon violations all plea bargained down to misdemeanors. The seventh time he was arrested in Eldorado County up by Tahoe were he attempted suicide while in jail. A trip to the shrink resulted in them determining he was a danger to himself and others then they turned him loose. Because all his arrests were down graded to misdemeanors he was able to purchase an AK type rifle in Oregon resulting in six months later him shooting up a school yard in Stockton California killing and injuring a bunch of kids. So the Santa Clara counsel decided to make every semi auto rifle owner a felon, no vote just did it. The irony of it was it was people just like them that turned the monster Patrick Purdy loose on those kids knowing full well he was a danger to himself and others, idiots all. I am in South Central Montana about 120 miles north of Yellowstone Park and if it ever blows in my life time it will come to an abrupt halt shortly there after. Ha! At 72 going on 73 my hiking hunting adventures are a thing of the past now. I was big into road racing motorcycles for several years and traveling for a living allowed me to visit several race tracks around the country, my favorite being Virginia International Raceway in Virginia. That was the first time I saw Nicky Hayden race, Laguna Seca in or near Monterey Ca. was the first Moto GP race in many years in the US of A and Nicky won! I was there I seen it! Nicky was blubbering huge crocodile tears as he took his victory lap. Everyone was cheering and crying too including me, great day for Nicky and America. Nicky has left us but will always be remembered in motorcycle land. Spent a lot of time and money at VIR in Virginia and at Thunder Hill in northern Ca., both a long way from home in Montana. I have not been back in Ca. in a few years now about five or six maybe after I quite riding, too old, too fat, too tired, too slow. :) Takes a lot out of you if your serious about it. Still have my Ducati 1098 and my MV Agusta F4 though most likely will never ride them again. I enjoy just looking at them now specially the MV, the closer you look the better it gets and I really mean that, Italian motorcycle art at it’s finest. Being up hear has fulfilled a life long dream my grandmother planted in my young mind, to have a piece of dirt to call my own, I call it my big yard. Got a boat the year after I retired and I fish Canyon Ferry being as it is close to home and big enough. Looking forward to warmer weather and getting out on the water. Want to go up to Fort Peck but the price of fuel these days is a real downer that is for sure. Got a nice muley last fall but he tastes just like he smelled, like shit. That musky stench just soaked clean through. Turned most of him into meat sticks which are at least edible thank goodness. I spend most of my time these days playing with my dogs and cats, had a bunch of chickens too but the foxes put a serious crimp on that hobby, out of thirty something I only have two left this spring. Foxes got to eat too so time to build a bigger better chicken yard this summer. I enjoy target shooting and looking into getting into national match shooting one of these days. The cliff fishing this guy does is on a much higher level than anything I have ever done. I just could not overcome my fear of heights to get anywhere near the level where this guy is. I really enjoy the videos and applaud his bravado. It takes serious dedication and skills to do what he does.

@@TheSagerider interesting story , my Father owned an operated a high performance Harley Davidson shop in the late 70's early 80's . we had our own high performance package that my father created all done on location. So that was my high-school job (no choice). He was the first guy in California to have a dynotuner in a hypo-shop. this was his passion not mine, but I learned alot. I am an outdoorsman in the purist form. I am firm believer in the second amendment, but im not a gun owner. i prefure archery to fool there eyes ears an nose, not to mention the satisfaction of being able to what most hunters to care to do( HUNT UP CLOSE). with todays rifles and and technology, now men are taking shots at animals with 3-4 second flight times . totally un-exceptable in my book . target shooting at those distance are cool. but game can move in the 3-4 seconds and now its wounded. its takes way more effort and skill with stick and string. It about ethics for me.Just like this guys videos he makes a real effort to chase massive fish, that anyone can do off a $500,000 boat and all the electronics on board. This guy has a passion for the outdoors and wild places and the critters he chases.. very kindred spirit. People as a whole live urbinized and disconnected with the natural world around us. To wrapped up in acquiring toys and expensive hobbys , then move on to new ones as they tend to get board. and repeat this process until they die with no real life experience thar give them purpose and fulfillment. Just a way to occupy there time and money on hobbys instead or creating personal adventures in this world weve been given as keepers and protectors. Not to mention being grounded like this gentlemen on these videos. Lifes about living it not acquiring wealth, and expensive toys and hobbys. In my opinion expensive hobbys are excuses to be bad fathers and husbands who rather be in a shop creating nothing. Were as you can spend all your time creating memories with you spouce and children and your childrens children. giving your kids experiences and skills they can use for the future. And when this country fails and the War starts with Russia ( and it will) hobbys and expensive toys will be a thing of the past. but the skills ive learned will allow and a comfort level off the grid while the urbinized people suffer. Montana is the very last strong hold in this country. nice to share some what similar paths to montana though. enjoy your retirement if you can. the collapse is coming soon brother. better hold on.

@@johnwoods1247 Ever since I was a kid I was into sneaking up on things, if I was smarter I would have been a good recon guy in the Army but alas not all that smart. I can truly relate with your perspective on the critters we share our world with. I have a very good relationship with my two dogs and two cats. Every creature has a personality unique and different and always should be respected. Not much makes me more unhappy that slob hunters that have no respect for the animals they hunt. I do love machines, big ones or little ones it doesn’t matter. I spent my life working in the commercial nuclear field building and servicing nuclear power plants which when you get right down to it is just a great big machine, now it is old tractors and old trucks, a fitting pass time for an old man. :)

Ever try using surfing booties for grip near the water and abseiling ? there are some cool ones now that almost half sneaker half booty.. great grip on the sole, also they make some seriously powerful telescopic rods now that I see loads of people using to land all sorts of fish from the rocks, powerful enough for most things and the compact size means less hassle when trekking in and out.

Your jewfish is probably named after the spotted grouper which was commonly called jewish because it was "so hard to skin ". Needless to say, the language Nazis deemed that verboten (forbidden) so the idiot academics ( all mind nummed globalist slaves) changed the name to goliath grouper. BTW I'm on the western gulf of mexico coast, in Texas. And if I were not coming up on my 80th birthday, I would be hard pressed not to move down there. We caught many large sharks and jewfish from the granite boulder jetties ( you call them quays or something). when I was your age. Tight lines.

I was lucky and got enjoy that same type of fishing for over 44 years. checking water conditions is utmost! good footing is next. good light weight boots with rough soles, for good footing. Next get yourself a lightweight aluminum painter's extension roller pole 4 to 5 meter long, take the screw on paint roller off, cut it, bend it into a shape of a gaff, and sharpen it, for a 5 meter long light weight collapsible gaff. Fishing Rods, long 10ft to 12ft fishing rods for reach, leverage, and steering big fish into a good landing area. I like penn spinning reels, for big fish and lightweight cheap aluminum spin reels for rockfish perch. Line; Maxima Ultra Green, very abrasive on rocks and barnacles 25 kilo (50 to 60 pound), light line tie to sinkers (for easy break away on snags). Hooks, I just have been using circle hooks of smaller fish. On Bigger fish, J hooks, I like using big flash spinner blades with big live bait, moving them around to get noticed. And you gotta be in shape to carry all those fish of the rocks safely. Be safe and Enjoy!!!!!!

I know the pain of the drone drowning in the ocean mate 😢 I lost one to a strong wind pocket off a cliff. Tried switching to sports mode and bring back but I could. Saw it drop and drown so fast probably like 50-60 feet from me 🙁

Agree with others that the vids are fab. Scary when you’re navigating the cliffs but clearly you have the skill to do it safely. The only thing I could think that might add another angle would be some underwater footage, with a GoPro or an in-line camera of the fish chasing the lure. The ocean there seems to be crammed with fish and a view of what’s going on under the waves would be fascinating - stay safe and keep bringing us amazing adventures, we’re all super envious

sorry mate i love your fishing videos , but your preperration for retrieval truly sucks with the cliff gaff. Why are you pulling tons of extra rope all the while yoir hanging onto some very large fish being beaten up on barnicles and violent surf against the cliffs. it seems you should have help with with retrieval to be a bit more careful . just a thought. your trips are epic rock climbing mixed with hardcore catch and cook . i would like to see you take a little better care of the ones you release is all . looking forward to you next adventure.

Amazing what you do. But I like to watch I wouldn't have the balls to do it myself. No matter what fish I'd catch

for the love of jesus get some water shoes and throw some kahtoola nanospike on em, and your feet will be more protected. You can also run away from a giant wave better. This has saved my life many times.
