I had an Ultimate seat on my old Chieftain, and it was a significant upgrade. Now that I have my Pursuit, the premium seat is better, but unfortunately, the more I ride, the more uncomfortable the seat gets, so I am considering purchasing another Ultimate seat.

Do you think the foam just breaks down after some time? I rented a Pursuit over 4 days in California and during that time it felt good. I mentioned it in a video that it had lumbar support. So it has me thinking that the foam just doesn’t stand up over the long term…

I did months of research watching countless videos before finally deciding to purchase an ultimate midrider seat for my Victory XCT. I`ve ridden almost 1,000 miles on the seat and I have to say my biggest gripe is the back of the driver seat is angled way too far towards the back. Not the backrest, but the actual back of the driver seat. I believe this to be a big flaw in design. I`m surprised I have never heard anyone else comment on that issue. I have a mustang seat on my other motorcycle and it is much better since it has a nice pocket where your butt sits and your back rests on the perfect angle that they have on the back of the seat. Also the ultimate seat sits me back farther which it was stated it would be same as stock.

That’s all fair. Everybody is different for sure. For me, I liked the extended seat because it gives additional legroom. And for me at 6’4”, I needed it. But there’s no right or wrong answer. Whatever works for you, the rider is the right seat! I appreciate you reaching out!

I've had this seat on my Vintage Dark Horse for 3 years and it has been incredible. I am thinking of adding the back rest...but not sure if it would really make a big difference. Thank you!

Great question. I should have mentioned that. I’m riding with mine today. I love the backrest, especially when using highway pegs. If you keep your feet planted on the floorboards, you may have less need. But yeah, I still LOVE the seat AND the backrest.

I’ve heard good things about Mustang too. A KZitemr friend of mine swears by them. I guess we all go with what’s worked for us before. But an improvement over stock - NO DOUBT!

Harley Heated Hammock seat close to 100,000 miles still feels great and the heat works. I was rearended, took the seat off and put it on the new bike. more important, my wife still likes the ride. that said get a Hammock Seat

Comfort is most important. I’ve ridden Harleys but not long enough to appreciate their seats. Indian does a nice job on their bikes but fall short on seats. And I suspect most if not all other brands fall into a similar place. But at the end of it all, if you like what you have, ride on!

I've owned two Corbins on my Scout and my Super Chief Limited (still have this bike). I just bought a Springfield and I'm hearing a lot of good things about the Ultimate. I'm on the fence as I've had good luck with Corbin, but man are they expensive.
@AnywhereRider

I can't speak to Corbin, other than their approach may be different. I think they approach a seat to be more like a saddle. A bit harder. Probably not a bad thing if it's shaped to fit. Ultimate, at least to me, has a balance of firm but still cushioned. I think that's why I've become a fan.

@@AnywhereRider Thanks for the note. I received my mid rider seat from Ultimate this weekend. I'm a bit bummed that I definitely sit higher and more forward than stock, the opposite of how they advertise it. Now trying to decide whether I can adjust to it or if it's going back. It's definitely cushy and feels good on the bum, but I feel like I'm "on" the bike contrary to their marketing.

@@RamblinManMoto did you opt for the tall boy version that sits you back an additional 1”.? I did and it did help. Don’t forget that they have a return policy in case it just doesn’t work out.

What is your experience with making sure you cover the seat so the threads don't get?? I thought somebody mentioned it can ruin them?

I’ve been caught in driving rainstorms and also been in stores/restaraunts when unexpected storms hit. I was able to wipe it off and I didn’t notice any issues. And there hasn’t been any degradation at all. But I do keep it garage kept when not riding. I wouldn’t invite problems with any seat to leave it out long term. UV light would probably do more damage than getting wet in my opinion. - but the short answer is that I haven’t had any issues at all. No stitching problems anywhere. I’ve used the covers when Camping to keep off dew or rain. But I like that option because the seat is clean and dry when I’m ready to go.
