If I were in the States, I would definitely sign up for a thorough review of my game with this guy, he is so analytical and yet so great to deliver simple, easy to follow instructions for a complex and fascinating sport. Great job, coach.

I like this video because she struggles so much and he has to try so many different approaches to make a change. I would be soooo happy if the coaches at my club used video like this.

Great video as always. Congrats. Id love to see more such videos with players that range on a higher level of game, 4, 4.5, 5 maybe? Id love to hear and see the corrections on such players. Thanks Essential Tennis. Keep it up!!! Thumbs up

Hey Ian ...love this new format in your clinics sessions ...so so good at detecting the problems and then dissecting into sections and correcting/adjusting ....just a quick note if I may.....Is it possible to tell or /suggest your students to dress in more open colors equipment???.... so we would clearly notice the difference in movement /technique...this subject for example and the background they kind of blend too much.just a suggestion..thank you

Its interesting to see that even someone with very little natural athleticism/coordination can improve quite a lot, given the right coaching

I'm a big believer that ANYBODY can improve, Nappy! Quality of time spent is by far the biggest variable. What most players call "practice" or "training" is mostly ingraining current habits (aka nothing is fundamentally improving).

ET coaches, I am curious what level players you work with for these VIP lessons. I am a beginner player.

Hey Brad! We work with players of all levels and ages - the beginner level is actually perfect because you'll be able to learn proper technique right from the start. If you're interested in coming to Milwaukee for our VIP experience, we'd love to send you more info if you just email support@essentialtennis.com. Thanks, Kirby

Everything is going crosscourt. Her racquet is coming around too much and not parallel to the baseline

I think the dominant hand's grip has to do with the contact position. Novak has a continental or maybe a little bit more towards tha backhand grip and her with her grip the dorsal part of the hand is in front ( towards a forehand grip ). I notice that someone like Agassi and Nadal hit more infront with the extended arms, and others like Monica seles hit closer to the body. I'm I totally lost with this idea ? :p

No, you're definitely on the right track. Grip most definitely impacts comfortable contact point tremendously.

ive recently started releaning the two-handed backhand since i had a long break and i cannot seem to get my one handed back to how it used to be. i dont understand this: which hand is responsible for the power?? the right hand?(me being a righty), or the left one? which hand is dominant in the motion?
@chaostrigger14

Left, treat it almost as a left handed forehand with the right hand there to keep it stable

Actually in their last video Ian said that you should use your dominant arm, in this case your right arm to initiate the swing up until contact. You then switch the dominance to your left arm after contact until you finish your follow through. This allows you to get more power and it reduces the tension on your arms.
