Really nice build and beautifully documented! I'm also all about the aesthetic of natural colors and materials. I'm going to build a wireless board in the same case and considering the Oil Kings as well. Did GMK WoB not come with another 1.25u R4 key for your right fn? :D

Thank you! And good eye! Haha I only realized it after the footage was shot and didn't want to do all over again, but yes it did come with the right R4 key and I've since replaced it 😂

sound like you put together a very solid entry level board. my personal daily driver board is a bakenko60 with a soldered pcb, alu plate, lubed and spring swapped cherry mx black hyperglides, cherry clip ins lubed with 205g0 on the housings and XHT-BDZ on the wire, with a durock 7u wire for the spacebar stab and gmk hennessy to top it off.

Thank you for watching and for sharing your build, sounds amazing! I've never heard of swapping out stabilizer wires before does it improve the sound/feel ?
@Luci_71
2 жыл бұрын
@@thejxfiles what wire swapping does just decreases the amount of potential ticking from an unbalanced wire. It made the build time spent on stabs significatly less than usual too

Are there full sized wood keyboard cases? Been trying to find them but no luck
@TheLegendKiller1

Since im not familiar with customising a keyboard please recommend for me a keyboard with close look to yours, I found the Azio retro classic but it comes with rounded key caps and a lot of spaces, btw I love your set up colours im planning to do a similar one.

Hey thanks for watching! My previous board is an Anne Pro 2 which I swapped out to a wooden case (make sure u buy the wooden case that is specific to the Anne Pro 2). Alternatively there's also an RK61 wooden case kit. Hope this helps!

wait so all you did was add lube to the stabs? no wire balance, no holee mod, and it still doesnt tick or rattle? how?
@thejxfiles
Жыл бұрын
On hindsight I should have done a holee mod. The stabs do rattle (esp the spacebar) when listening to the sound test. I'll probb do the Holee mod for my next build!

I wouldn't know where to get the design specifcations since I just bought it from KBDfans. Perhaps you can look for it online? The case is the Tofu60 Walnut.
@bobcatmc9620

Could I just buy a keyboard and replace the back with the walnut?
@thejxfiles
2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can technically do that. In my previous build at kzitem.info/news/bejne/uZWBr5l7kqJia4I I bought a prebuilt Anne Pro 2 and just swapped out to a walnut case. But do note to get the case specifically for the Anne Pro 2 such as this one a.co/d/hWPFlGs. For this specfic case, the Tofu60 Walnut, you'd have to get a prebuilt keyboard with the standard PCB with the same screwhole layout as the Tofu60, some people have managed to fit GK61s with some modifications. I would highly recommend going fully custom though, it's a ton of fun and well worth the effort. Good luck!

Did you get the hot swap or solderable? Either way they should have stabiliser sockets on the top right as shown in the picture (three rows of holes close to each other) I'd have to caveat that neither are the exact model as mine in the video as my exact one is no longer available on kbdfans it seems.

@thejxfiles
2 жыл бұрын
Hey @@toastedmilik7153 I apologise, I've realised the issue. The link I initially provided leads to a PCB with a WKL layout (Winkeyless). The right PCB with backspace and enters should be the ANSI layout - kbdfans.com/products/dz60rgb-ansi-mechanical-keyboard-pcb (same as my layout with no arrow keys) or this one - kbdfans.com/products/dz60rgb-hot-swap-custom-keyboard-pcb (with arrow keys). I've since fixed the link in my description. I understand you've already bought the PCB. If you're within 7 days of delivery perhaps you could request a return from KBDfans, or try to sell it second hand? My deepest apologies once agin for this mistake, I know I have a responsibility to deliver accurate information and I take this seriously. Please reach out to me in DMs on IG at @thejxfiles if you need any assitance.
