Sort of reminds of me of what Blue Water did with Dan Dan Kokoro Hikaraeteku for their dub of Dragon Ball GT. They used the same instrumental but made their own melody for it.

This is astonishing. I wonder why Mill Creek Entertainment didn't use this source material when they released "Ultra Man" on DVD. The opening title sequence they used (in Japanese) was positively wretched, and the DVD release features no ending titles at all. Any-hoo, well done!
@collectorcanine96

I know this comment is from two years ago, but... the Mill Creek DVDs weren't official. Mill Creek thought they had the license, but they really didn't. It's a long story involving a scummy company based in Thailand. Their new Blu-rays are fully licensed and use the original masters, but Mill Creek's DVD releases were made using footage from an older Japanese DVD release and English audio ripped from bootleg VHS tapes.

@@collectorcanine96 The Mill Creek Blu rays with the restored Ultraman aren't much better where the credits go. They never did include the American version of the opening titles. Again, the end credits are missing from the bilingual Blu ray releases of Ultraman. They've released roughly half the episodes with the English on 2 separate Blu releases. I have the first Blu ray, probably will get the second in the next year. I don't know WHY they didn't just include the English dub on the official Ultraman Blu ray releases in the US. Laziness?!? Licensing issues?!? Tsuburaya being difficult? It's a shame the series has been handled this way. It's one of the better English dubs from the 1960s. I don't consider it "embarrassing." A lot of the voice actors of the Ultraman English dub worked on anime dubs in the 1960s, most notably Speed Racer. It's real obvious Ms. Fuji is English dubbed by the voice of Trixie (Speed Racer), Corrine Orr!

Sorry for the extremely late reply, but yes! I read about that in Ragone's book (and also heard him talk about it on, I believe, a Kaijucast podcast). Episode 3 has been around for a few decades at least and others have shown up on 16mm but I'd love to have the whole series.

TheH-Man Me too. Too bad it they won't ever see the light of day, thanks to that crook, Sampote Sands. You know, Tsuburaya has the English masters for not only Ultraman, but also Ultra Q and Ultra Seven (Cinar Dub).

+TheMellowPumpkin It's a shame when the rights get all tied up like that. Didn't know CBS had Ultra Q at all (which is interesting given how that might seem like the perfect successor to Twilight Zone had it aired there).

Livonia native here! Nostalgia slapdown follows....😄❤ sorry about the lengthy essays that follows. But it is necessary at this point. Absolutely! Mid to late 70's - Ultraman on WXON TV 20 Detroit @5:00pm! I had to watch it on a black and white 12" tube in my parents bedroom because my mom would be watching Kelly & Company or the news at the same time on the color tv in the living room. Ultraman and 'The Ghoul'(Hey hey hey! & "Hi'ya Hi'ya Hi'ya" and then Froggy the Gremlin explodes via m80 or gets blendered or staple gunned to the wall or taped to metal fan blades turned on 'HIGH' LOL) on ch 50 @11PM Saturday nights, they were my favs back then! And "The Creature Feature" Saturdays @noon on 50. Also Saturday afternoons Sir Graves Ghastly @2pm on local Channel 2 after American Bandstand and Soul Train. Then Batman followed by Star Trek or Space: 1999. And...weekdays there was 'The 4o'clock Movie' on ABC @4PM or 4:30pm...MONSTER WEEK every year. Always pre-empted on Wednesday by a stupid "The ABC After School Special". 😠 Everytime it was Monster week we got ripped off on Wednesdays! LOL! Peace man! ✌ P.S. Weekdays - The Banana Splits @3:30, The Three Stooges @4:00, The Munsters or The Addams Family @4:30, Lost in Space @5:00 After school and Saturday mornings were the best of times as a Detroit area TV kid in the 60's & 70's! Especially at Halloween time! Don't forget a sugary big bowl of Quisp or fruity smiley faced 😄 Kaboom! cereal too, burgandy box with a clown. Hehe! When Hostess 'Ding Dongs' were still called 'King Dons' with a white fringed red robe wearing ceptor wielding small crowned moustached 'King Don', and they were twice as big as todays and packed inside aluminum foil - 12 to a box! Then name changed to King Dongs, then to Ding Dongs in the 80's 😄 Thank you for making me remember it all.🙏 It's all your fault!...lol. Later dude! ✌ and another comment....

Speed Racer. Godzilla. Gamera. Rodan. Battle of the Planets. Ultraman. Even 'The Courtship of Eddies Father' because there was Bill Bixby's Japanese house keeper. The Communications lady Hiroko Sakurai aka 'Fuji' on Ultraman was my 1st ever 'boys crush' as a 9 year old year old boy in 1975. If it was Japanese, I was all into it. My schoolmates thought I was wierd back then. I was into Anime ever since 'Kimba the White Lion'! Yep...ahead of the rest of society, I was.✌👍 🇯🇵

@Paul Miruzzi The Ghoul and Sir Graves... Wow. What a flashback. I remember being in the west branch of Ann Arbor's library sometime around '81(maybe?) and this group of punks (like with leather and spiky colored hair - the whole 9 yards - awesome classic stereotypical punks) walked in and I remember the girl of the group saying they were supposed to be on The Ghoul. It was the closest I've ever come to being near greatness. 😜 😉 ANYWAY, yeah some good stuff was on the ol' boob tube back then. My family moved into the area around '81, so we caught the tail end of all the fun things on local TV back then. Mel Far Superstar ("And they cannot fly eitherrrrrr!") and Bill Bonds, the ch7 news anchor who was probably who they based Will Ferrell's Anchorman character on. 🤣 Good times. Oh! Speaking of the afternoon movies... There was another guy who was kind of (locally) famous... Ah! Bill Kennedy on WKBD ch50. I remember him showing Burt Reynolds's Cosmopolitan magazine centerfold but he had a little leaf he put over Burr's "goods". 😉 Good times. Man, Detroit TV was a crazy time... Thanks for the memories! Peace! 😎🤘☮️ PS: I forgot! I actually watched Ultraman around '75 while we were living in Pennsylvania. My folks moved around a lot (dad worked on power plants) until finally dropping anchor for good in Michigan. Anchor... hmmm... Reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite movies... "What are the three most exciting sounds in the world?" 😉

Same here. Oxford Michigan resident here. I remember the show on Channel 20 WXON in the late 70's, too. However, the United Artists logo I remember was the 1967-1968 "circles"/Transmerica logo rather than the 1963-1966 "brackets" logo. The "brackets" logo must have been from an original airing in the 1960's, while Channel 20 had the 1967 re-issued prints.

False advertising :( Then I maybe thought it was that Snow Creature that kind of resembled a Gorilla so I got happy :) Now people on here are saying it's Goro from Ultra Q? Shit I better go watch the Ultra Q Series then. I'm guessing Ultra Q had some type of relation in the making of this original Ultraman? I see that the intro say's Ultra Q then switches quickly to say Ultraman!
