In the 50 mile to 100km distance road ultra scene there is only one race worth doing if you think you are any good and want to prove that you are the best and thats the Comrades Marathon. The World's oldest ultra (1921) with the biggest and deepest field, and the most price money (more then the Berlin Marathon). If home boy thinks he is good, best he make his way down to South Africa for the 8th June 2025.

It's not a good course for setting a world record, since you going ether up or down.

@@christiankennedy9417 records are meaningless when the best are not trying to get it. Winning the Comrades is bigger then a 100k world record.

If you do long progression rans you'll beat it, he can't pick up the pace. Hopefully you're doing a lot of volume as well and eating a lot during the trains. That could make a big impact

Your form. It’s like you never fully straighten your legs. Quads always under tension. Running like you’re just about to sit down.

The only people "fully straightening" their legs are people with horrendous form. The quads are only under tension when absorbing impact. This isn't lifting brah.

If you look at elite runners, you'll see all sorts of different running forms. While there are some that are more efficient, there's not one that's necessarily best. And Charlie's form here is optimized for ultra-running. It sacrifices a little bit of power by not fully extending on the toe-off, but doing this saves a lot of energy and reduces vertical energy loss.

Alexander Sorokin's holds every ultra record between 100km and 24 hours. If Charlie breaks the world record at all, it will be by a small margin.
