The backtracking was intentional as the VIOLENCE layer is a big labyrinth, designed so that the people suffering there can’t escape. In a book that was written by a person in the violence layer, it says they’ve been stuck there for a very long time

violence itself isn’t a labyrinth. only the entrance / exist of violence, the garden of forking paths, which is not technically the actual layer.

IM GONNA TALK ABOUT THE ENEMIES ONLY HERE: The GUTTERMAN is anoying, and how frecruent it is used makes me a little salty. Im one of those idiots who previous to this update never changed hands into the knuckleblaster, i know way more competent player than me use the hand to do lots of neat stuff, but fuck i just love proyectile boosting and parrying enemies, the reason why i disliked the gutterman is that IT MAKES YOU change hands, wich kinda limits your playstile and gives you a "correct" way to deal with an enemy. Wich is new to Ultrakill. Even mindfliers can be dispatech in a multitude of ways and you can suit your playstile arround them, does this make them an easy enemy? no but you dont need to change playstiles to adapt to the enemy and creativity IS encouraged. However i cant say the same for the gutterman and the red explosive variant, and it doesnt help that they got a HUGE ASS healthpools.I like the manequins they are a "harder version" of previous enemies and that makes for an interesting adversary, they are weak to your pistol atacks, two coin flips is all you need to dispatch one, and you can do what you normaly do with shotguns and quickdraw slag revolvers instead, that also a good strategy to kill them, also everytine they are cimbing a wall, it counts as if they were "airborne" wich gives you the oportunity to blow the to smitherines with the rocket louncher. finally the "the blood trees" felt kinda pointless, they are way too easy as an enemy type, the concept is cool dont get me wrong, but what if instead of spawning the blood things it would spawn regular enemies, starting with the weakest and one by one it ups the difficulty, wich you can stop by luring the OTHER enemies that spawned in the room and kill them next to the tree, so it stops earlier? that be much more interesting than fireing an atractor and fucking use sawblades to nutralize the tree as soon as it spawns the phantoms. TLDR: i disliked the new robots, specially the Gutterman, he will ruin your fun. I liked the manequins and the gigant Cerberus, the tree could have been better implemented. (also garthen of forking paths is a refernce to a book written by "Jorge Luis Borges", an argentinian classical writter in his book "Tlon Ukbar Orbius Tertius" wich in my eyes makes it the best level in the game)

To be fair, the point of most of the enemies in this new update was to make useless weapons useful. The number 1 weapons that were very underused by casual players were the Rocket and the red arm with the red arm only really being used against sentry’s which I’m sure from this comment you just simply projectile boost them and they end up dying eventually. So they made the red arm a bit more important. And honestly it’s so satisfying to just go in, red arm, swap to feedbacker and and parry it’s punches. I personally love the guttermen and the guttertank’s making the rocket more useful with you being able to freeze frame their rockets mid air and heal from their landmines (by parrying) Overall I think gutterman and guttertank are good additions although I personally resented dying to the guttertank’s unparryable punch, but after it’s nerf it’s a relatively weak enemy now.

1st thing: is it really that hard to swap your fist for 2 seconds just to dispatch a shield. All it takes is just 2 button presses and that’s it that’s literally all your complaining about in that first part. Not only that but the reward for doing so is really great, as not only do you get healed but you deal a large handicap to a strong enemy on the battlefield. And plus it’s really hard to miss the punch since the knuckleblast’s actually explosion can still break the shield as well. You don’t even need to be aiming at him. Another thing to note is how incredibly easy it is to parry him when he loses the shield as it’s basically just his death sentence once you parry him. And also about the blood trees, that argument misunderstands the whole purpose of the blood trees. They aren’t like a major boss of the arena where your encounters with it is entirely dedicated to just taking them out. While yes you do need to fill them to progress the level, the blood trees are ultimately meant to put pressure on the player and work in tandem with the OTHER enemies that it spawns in the room with. Basically sort of like how the virtue enemy works.

Not only there is a lot of skill issue here, this comment is written so weird? Like, calling blood trees enemy types and calling not even bothering to remember the name of guttertanks? It almost makes me question if this is supposed to he taken serious Guttermen are extremely easy if you know what you are doing, it takes like 2 seconds to change to the knuckleblaster and break the shield, which isn’t even required (i just killed the boss version without breaking the shield and it was not that hard), their health pool is not that big andthey get stunned with the guard break and parries, giving you more than enough time to shotgun swap or railcoin, or even just shoot them in general, and their corpse can be slammed on for a large red explosion Also you can parry mines into them to break their shield so in some areas you don’t even need the knuckleblaster The trees are not enemies nor are they annoying or really affect the game progression, again, just don’t be bad, the strongest type that the muppets take on is mannequins, it is extremely easy to kill groups of them around the tree, and you can also kill the enemies around the tree to make it far easier for you
