Hi, I’m using a Tsurinoya Dexterity rod, it’s rated 0.6-8gms casting weight. I would say that as good as the rod is it’s the reel that does make most of the difference. A light rod obviously helps but for the tiny lures a good BFS reel makes all the difference.

Is this your local stretch of canal or do you have to travel some distance to get there? My local stretch of canal is fishing pretty rubbish at the moment and I think I need to consider travelling a bit further afield to fish. There is no point plugging away on the same stretch just because it is fairly local to my home

Hi, fairly local, bearing in mind there is 40 miles of canal to cover 😁. I’m in a similar situation hopping from spot to spot on the off chance the water is in good condition. I’ve found timing working in my favour when it comes to evening sessions, less boat activity.
