Spending more than 50 on what is essentially a pair of telescopic walking sticks is just plain dumb.

I think they’d definitely need to have a duel purpose if I was going to invest in a more expensive set.

I spent a good hundred for a carved walking stick from a local native woodworker. Great wood, fits my height exactly, looks beautiful really just what I want when I'm moving through the PNWs forests.

There are certainly some amazing artistic pieces available from local artists. Thanks for the share!

I've had great luck with the $55 Cascade Mountain Tech carbon fiber poles on Amazon. Going on 3 years, hundreds of miles, and several states/terrains/conditions ... and occasionally holding up my trekking pole tent when the hammock isn't an option. Your $25 deal is the better bargain, but $55 isn't too bad either.

I would never place a price tag on happiness. If $55 fits the bill, nicely done!

Good thoughtful information. As a frugal gent myself, I am curious about the backpack you use that only cost $40? It looks functional, the size I'm needing, and the green color is a pleasant bonus. Any details regarding the make and model you could provide would be appreciated. Cheers!

Howdy! The pack I’ve been using is an off brand. I found it on Amazon. Truth be told, I was very skeptical when I ordered it but for $39.99 I thought it would be well worth checking out. It’s a Diamond Candy 40L waterproof pack. I’ve been amazingly happy with it. This season I’m going to take advantage of some of the big sales happening and keep scouring the used listings to get something a little smaller for day hikes. I’m also considering venturing into a little bit lighter 40L pack for some multi day adventures I’ve got planned for this season. Rest assured, whatever I buy will be on sale 😉

Generally, poles are good for older hikers or younger hikers who wish to still be hikers when they are older.
