I just bought this. It's fantastic even when you failed to mention the awesome center of gravity. The awesome balance throughout. I was using bladders all the time. The lumbar bottle system makes it easier to go on those long runs. Great videos. Funny too. Thanks

I now know how much you love magnets! Lol I'm a huge fan of my ultimate direction vest. I forget I'm wearing it, but I love the second water bottle, (though I love soft flasks to cut out the distracting slosh) the bottle storage system, and the cutaway design for easier arm swing. The price isn't terrible either!

Just bought the pack last night. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with the bottles. The (Salomon) soft flasks I have do not stay in the back pocket. I have some smaller harder shell bottles, think 350 mL, i can use. Now i gotta go find Ultraspire bottles that really fit. REI, where i bought the pack, did not have them. Why the heck didn't they include them? Otherwise, test run, with one soft flask in front, and two smaller bottles in the back, really good fit.

I haven’t tried the soft flasks in the holsters. While it would hold them, I don’t think it would be ideal because they’d slip down into the holder and could be a challenge to get out. The flasks I’m using are ideal for this vest!

Have used this vest for over a year. Love it. Two issues I have had are when my hands are cold, it is hard to feel the back pockets when trying to put back bottles, which leads to a bottle drop. The other issue was when I put my phone in the "phone pocket" it kept the screen on and drained my battery.

Ugh! It’s the little things like the phone screen being kept on that can make us not reach for a piece of gear! I can’t really relate to the cold hand situation here in Florida. We do get a couple cold days a year but I haven’t worn the vest on those days! 🤣

A few questions for you, as some time has passed since you made the video. How has the vest held up over time? I've read reviews stating that the elastic closures wore out and didn't hold items securely any more. Have you experienced this? Also, with how the bottles are positioned in the back, do your arms bump into or rub the bottles as they swing back and forth while running? Thanks for the super in-depth review, I'm strongly considering this for my next hydration system. I've always been a bladder hydration runner, but I am tired of how time consuming they are to refill at aid stations, and I've tried a few vests that hold soft flasks on the front and am not fully sold on that system either.

Hey! Just m with you on the bladder system being too time consuming. At this point it would have to be a very long race for me to consider using a bladder again. No, my arms do not bump the bottles when they’re in the holsters. I have not experienced wear and tear, but I haven’t used this vest much in the last year or so. I generally grab the UA Bronco Race vest more than any other. I really like how small and tight around my body it fits.

Will the 550ml bottles fit in the front stretch pockets securely?
@its_Matt_B_

Good question. I’m at work and don’t have the vest with me, but I don’t think the bottles that go in the fluidic holster would be ideal in the front pockets. I bet you could squeeze them in, but the pockets certainly aren’t made for those bottles. I think a normal soft flask would be best up front. If that turns out to be untrue, I’ll let you know.

@@ronbiggs5912 The bottles fit securely in the front pockets, but they seem a little tight. Not too tight that they don't fit, but they seem too tight to be pulling out and putting back in while on the run. I had to use both hands to hold the bottle and work it into the pocket. Not ideal when you're tire on the run. I'd definitely go with a soft flask in the front.

@@its_Matt_B_ yes it seems to be the weight of the full bottles forcing the magnet open and out the bottles come. Using the recommended bottles but maybe I need to pull the draw strings tight each time after putting the bottles back in.

@@its_Matt_B_ I think I have it figured out. When you take the bottles out the tightening cord seems to loosen so after you put the bottles back in just give that cord a pull to tighten and bottles stay put. Tried this last night on my trail run and worked great.
