Interested in this one, but the color... it's loud.

It is loud. I guess that I have just gotten used to it. I run with it probably 4 days a week.

Great review. I have really had my eye on an ultraspire waste belt. Are there any trekking pole attachments on this version 2?
@TheOldUltraRunner

Not specifically. However, I believe the stretchy cords that go over the front pouch would hold them.

Thanks for sharing, I’m thinking of getting one of these. Can you tell me if the front pouch is removable or not? I wouldn’t want the front pouch for every run.
@TheOldUltraRunner

Unfortunately, it is not removable.

Thanks for the review, particularly comparing the first version to this version. If you were NOT carrying water, which one would you prefer? I don't carry water in a belt, preferring hand-held bottles instead, so the main complaint about the original version that the bottle falls out doesn't concern me. One concern I have with Version 2 is that a phone in the front pocket will bounce around too much if there's nothing else in it.

If you are not carrying water, version 1 could be better. I have been able to secure my phone pretty well in version 2 using the straps, however there was never any concern in version 1.

Great review! Are there any attachment points for trekking poles in this newer version?

No, not really. You could probably use the bungee cords on the front of the pack, but then it might become more difficult to use them to tighten down the front pouch.

Awesome review. I wanted to ask if you think you could use any type of bottle in the back or does it only fit the Ultraspire bottles?
@TheOldUltraRunner
Жыл бұрын
That is a great question. I just tried an amphipod 20 ounce bottle (flatish also) and a 20 ounce Nathan bottle (more round shape). They both fit in well and seem secure. I prefer the feel of the flatter shaped bottles in the pack. I think that I will now use the amphipod bottles quite often. I own several and like the larger opening to make putting ice in simpler.

@@TheOldUltraRunner thank you. Yes, I wear the Speedgoat 3.0 because of the 2 bottles but I need more room for nutrition and wouldn’t mind carrying a handheld but I’d like to have that option in carrying a bigger bottle if needed. I may just buy one because I do love waist packs over vest since I live in the south, it’s gets miserably hot.

@@Alabama_Runnr, yes I like waist packs, especially for the summer to keep the heat off the back. I live in Texas, so it does get pretty warm here in the summer as well.

Great share Jay! I really like UltraSpire backpacks. I raced and trained with one last year til I ruined it in the washing machine (yes I know that was a bonehead move) ! Waistpacks always send my running for the bushes due to the constant squeezing - LOL! Keep pushing!

Nice review. I have not gone far enough to need a pack like that, but I do have a slim belt that could hold my water and phone. Have a great weekend.

Great review Jay! I'm glad you showed both versions of the belt. The ultra spire plexus 2 seems like a great upgrade. The water bottle sleeve and the straps to stop things from moving are a great idea!

I think it holds a little bit less gear, however, the upgrades make it much more useful for me. I certainly like the ease of getting the water bottle out and that it is much more secure.. Thank you for watching, Gill!!!
