Its the universe in a song, a thing that fills you with both boundless wonder and profound dread. Inconquerable and incredible, that episode when Ulysses finds the towering dimensional wall of light and the seat of forgetfulness, immense

Like Ulysses i will 'Never forget' the first time i saw the seat of forgetfulness and the 3 fates and heard this chilling, self-searching music. - it was in summer of 1985 - i was 9 and I had the blinds closed. - thank God it was a brilliant sunny day outside because this episode left me cold throughout my whole being. - It is my favorite tune off of a soundtrack that is simply beyond compare in my mind. - Even now at 39 I love and appreciate the sounds and the feelings they stir! ..... Thank you so much for the upload. - I mean that sincerely. XX

I always knew "The Meltdown" (LUNATIC ASYLUM) had something to do with the "Dune" melody, but here is the Result: BEFORE "Dune", there was "Ulysses 31", we saw it in German TV as "Odysseus 31" !! #JustCOOLMusic

Came here to say that... so now I'm troubled : was this part of the original 1981 sountrack or from the 2001 re-edition ? (because Dune is from 1984)
@appeldair

Came here to say that? Sure! That's a clever point of view!! Dune OST (recorded by the legendary band Toto) and Ulysse 31 are both from the Progressive Rock inspiration of the 70's (Genesis, ELO, Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd, Vangelis...). This influence has made a lot of great 80's film soundtracks and perhaps one of the bests of all time! ;-)

Obviously Mercurius hasn't found this recording yet, I'm sure he would be a fourth dislike... after he failed to trick Ulysses into giving him the power to overthrow the other gods and remake the universe in his own image.
