The arcade version felt more fleshed out in gameplay, graphics, and details compare to the SNES version. While SNES version, to me, had a better music score. Both are still fun to play.

For an early SNES game UN Squadron was quite good. Faithful to the arcade original with some good SNES specific improvements.

WOW, this takes me back, as I was a huge fan of Area 88 back in the day(manga/anime), and this was one of my first imports for my Super Famicom at the time. It was actually my first purchase from "Japan Video Games", and Jim the owner had just moved from the bay area if memory serves, and he didn't have a retail shop yet, and was selling imports out of his garage. His shop ended up being my main go to for imports until I moved from LA back in 95, great times and great memories.

The only better things on arcade is the higher resolution (CPS1?). The SNES has better colors, more different scrolling areas and scaling/rotation effects, also better sound. But it looks like there is no 2 player mode and the port is a little easier than the original!

The way the arcade has more back ground detail than the snes but the snes has the better attention to detail despite less background detail is really impressive.

As fun as the SNES version was, I choose the Arcade due to its' soundtrack being a lot easier on the ears and less whiny than the SNES.

The intro for the SNES is nothing short from being epic. However my favorite music track "Thundercloud" is missing. Bummer.

Even the colors look better on SNES and it has some scaling/rotation effects (mode 7), but the resolution is higher in the CPS1 arcade original.

Indeed, the early CPS1 games had a shrill and metallic sound, same thing with Street Fighter 2 and Final Fight. They also sound better on SNES imo.

Wow that SNES game in basically every way is the better version. Audio, visuals, color, and the rebalancing for longer stages and equally good boss fights that just take less hits to finish off since it's not a quarter sucker. Capcom did a hell of a job on this one, shows when they're not quite as rush as they were with Christmas 91 for Final Fight getting too much taken out does for them.

The snes matches the arcade easily. The only thing missing from the snes port is the flames coming out of the back of the jet other than that looks nearly identical.

As Duas versões são bem próximas em gráficos. Mas deve-se levar em consideração que as mecânicas são diferentes já que no Arcade é mais ação e no SNes tem um pouco de RPG.

What was the reason for the 2p being left out in snes? Im sure memory but wonder why they just couldn't use a bigger cart
@greensun1334

Just like Final Fight. It was one of the system's earliest games, maybe they had a deadline to finish it and - of course - costs. Larger cartridges were very expensive back then!

Yea it's just bs, they could have essentially added it. Just look at super earth defense force. Only 1 player on snes, yet on the back of the snes cover you see the arcade game with 2 players. Felt duped, still a decent game though.

The snes is way better. Sure it’s not 2 player but that flaw is the only flaw of the snes port. The music being crappier and placed at different stages like the dessert carrier having the lass boss theme. Just like the bosses on the snes being better and cooler. Fighting the big hyper sonic jet in the mountain valley was the better boss than that hybrid jet. Plus the analyst and seller look like bums hahah snes for the win
