1:06:00. They talk about Samtaz in other episodes because they're part of their muelling deal with galindo but I don't think you see them as a group again,. Also them meeting with Samtaz helps set up in a few episodes when lobos attacks and drops the bag of heads at Teller Morrow, the president of Samtaz is one of the heads

I also can't defend this SAMTAZ plot -- but the (theoretical) point to their including it was obviously to open the "OMG, drug sales + club-member secrets kill motorcycle charters" precedent. Not sure it was worth shooting, in hindsight.

You're bang on 100% about how interesting it is to hear you peel back both the layers of the production of the show, your own approaches to your characters at that time and your approaches to the craft of acting in general. Great job guys.

Hey Super Samily! Been a busy week so I'm so looking forward to settling down to watch Theo and Kim 😊. I hope you've all had a great week so far, and here's a little positive message just in case you need it♥️ : Nothing in life is free, But if you put your mind to something, work hard and do your due diligence, you will certainly succeed in tackling whatever challenges come your way. You are a warrior through and through, but even warriors need to lay down their shields for a moment and recover, so make sure you do this and take the time to appreciate how far you’ve come. Then rise up and keep going. You are strong, brave, and valid ♥️.

My son who is 14 just saw Goonies for the first time a couple months ago, he is now a big big fan, I love it! Still trying to get him to sit through Princess Bride, we tried a few years back and we didn't make it through it, it was one of the ones my sisters, mother and I watched it over and over again. BTW I loved the Snorkes, my sisters were much younger than me and it gave me an excuse to watch it.

Great podcast as always fellas. But I must say, I've always viewed SOA as a bit of a secretive production. On season 1 and 2, I worked in the script supervisory department. For Gena and then Gladys and Gena. My job was to make sure people had their call sheets and that the (as Gladys would say) trains arrive on time. Which meant that in part, my job was to walk in and out of rooms unnoticed. Here to say that I failed that task horribly one day. Overheard a thing or two I shouldn't had while popping in the writers room to drop off some coffee, and waiting for one of my bosses to sign off on a couple of things. Then boom, 45mins later got called to the "principles office". Theres Gladys, an unnamed writer that we will refer to as JL, and my 22 year old dumb ass. Absolutely shook. This was before filming began on season 2. And not all the scripts are out. What I had overheard was the end for season 2 and some Irish stuff for season 3 that never ended up happening(assuming they were just shooting the shit around that time about season 3). It was made clear that it would be in my best interest to keep quiet and remember the NDA I signed. I'm no snitch. Everything worked out.

I understand the argument that the SAMTAZ stuff was ultimately pointless, but I enjoyed it. I always loved when we got to see other SoA charters. But the explosion was dumb, I'll give you that. That would just attract way _more_ attention, rather than throwing it off. That stank of "we need a cool spectacle for the episode" rather than making sense within the narrative. I also understand why Kim hates the fact that Tig used a bunny as a threat, but I think you don't _need_ to assume the worst. Tig could very well have been making an empty threat, and would never actually harm the bunny.

I’ve noticed a pattern since rewatching again, every time there’s an issues in a club it’s the sergeant in arms that’s gone rouge either with the president or with the vp. Belfast charter, Arizona charter, Calaveras club and obviously the most obvious is when Tig and clay killed Donna. I wonder if this is Just a coincidence or really a reason behind this!

42:00. This might not be correct but I think he was working in the pet store without a shirt on because he owned it,,. When the guys first walk in there's a wide shot and you see it sign on the wall that says Bunny's and when the woman almost walks out he says no go back there bunny everything's okay so yes they did sell rabbits but I think the woman he was with his name was Bunny and she owned the place

I've always had a big question about this episode and that is why were Benny and huff not killed? They're proven to not only lie to the club but they killed a member and forced another member out. I don't know for sure they weren't but they show them being all beat up without their cuts back at the truck stop. They haven't done a mayhem vote on the show at this point I don't believe it's clearly established in later seasons that if you kill a member it's almost certain death

I get what you're saying about the SAMTAZ storyline, Theo. However, I think it gives the whole SAMCRO 'franchise' (maybe franchise is the wrong word) authenticity; by that, I mean it compares SAMCRO with another branch or charter and maybe shows differences in morals or values of the club? Just my opinion.
@sskoog
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I think it's pretty clear they were going for a "drug deals + club-member secrets kill charters" parallel -- almost like a foreshadowing of how SAMCRO was gonna decline -- but, in hindsight, it was maybe not worth including.

This 'different actors' approach to the craft' discussion has deep sub-threads -- consider someone like Nicolas Cage, who (though I can't quite call him a "great actor") has a truly one-of-a-kind method -- throws in random referential bits from all aspects of his weirdly-well-read literary + cinematic library, summons a "shamanistic" self on-screen, and, when lacking any other inspiration, just wildly starts screaming "LOOK AT ME I'M RE-ENACTING FRITZ LANG I'M A GERMAN IMPRESSIONIST." It doesn't always work -- maybe it doesn't even mostly work -- but it's really something to see.
