Vegas in the 90's was the best... so much fun!!! 😎😎😎 The theme park was awesome... where else can you drink double margaritas and go on fun water rides!!! They had lots of good entertainment too thruout the park. My sister and I thought the same thing about the pirate show... we watched it several times. 😍The Wizard of Oz theming was awesome too!!! I also think the same thing when I watch Vegas Vacation... the MGM carpet, the Mirage, etc. You can tell where the Griswolds are by looking at the carpet. Thank you for sharing and bringing back so many good memories!!! 💖💖💖 Vegas has changed but not for the better, unfortunately! ☹

So I went to Las Vegas for the first time in my late 20s, and I was looking for the old lion entrance that I originally saw from the movie Vegas Vacation. Suffice to say I was really disappointed to find out it was removed a very long time ago! But it's really great to see it here. Seeing your video makes me so nostalgic for the 90s. Thanks for sharing.

I went in 1999 hoping to see the same thing with no luck. I walked around that damn place three times before I just gave up.

Wow, that sounds like an incredible trip! The Grand Canyon and Las Vegas are such iconic destinations, and I can only imagine how amazing it was to experience them at 14. I also have fond memories of visiting Las Vegas around that time-it was always such a fun and vibrant place! Exploring the stunning views of the Grand Canyon and then diving into the excitement of Las Vegas must have been an unforgettable adventure. I'm sure those memories still bring a smile to your face. What an awesome way to spend a vacation! - Jess

Me Too! I really missed the old days of Las Vegas it was so much fun. I really wish they still had a lot of the theming because unfortunately they have really downplayed all of that and it feels like weird holiday ends all over

I was in Vegas that year and I totally remember the Wizard of Oz theming. Wizard of Oz is still my favorite movie visually speaking, so I of course loved the theme. Those canopies above the restaurant tables look so cool, they weirdly wouldn’t be out of place at the Wynn or Encore today. On that trip I saw Pen and Teller at Ballys, so I remember that entry well. Thanks for sharing this footage!

I was madly in love with Las Vegas back then. I wish it would not have changed like it did but there's nothing I can do about that. I still love Vegas and I know what I'm doing so I still have a blast. I remember $1 craps downtown at Binion's. A guy from Tennessee and I played until 4:00am and I fell asleep on the bus on the way back and overshot the Aladdin. Too funny. 😂

I remember at the MGM Grand, when walking that long corridor past the food court and towards the theme park, they had carnival games (indoors). My first time in Vegas was in 1995 as well (I was almost 16), and my brother mastered a football-toss game and won all us siblings NBA hats of several different teams.

I was at the MGM around Christmas that year. I remember getting off an elevator and seeing Tony Curtis in a tuxedo with this fine supermodel who was, like, a foot taller than him and 30 years younger. It's surreal to see all this again.

Stardust early 90's my first stay. Never seen the old MGM inside, Hated to see the Riviera go, was always attracted to it's outer strip lights. Strange observation in your film, that Treasure Island had/still has The Mystere show. Didn't realize Cirque was that old. Thanks for sharing.

The Stardust just makes me think of showgirls.. lol. I have a bunch of additional videos I'm gonna start pulling some of the footage and see what I can salvage. Yeah to see that Treasure Island shows still there mean that's there me that's some ventured stuff that's still living. When I was 16 my parents started taking us and we stayed all over the place so I have a ton of footage.

OMG this footage is incredible!!!! I got to visit the MGM Grand as a kid, and this brought back so many details that I’d completely forgotten about! Question: I’m working on a video for my channel that touches on the MGM Grand’s Oz era, would it be alright if I used some clips from your video, with credit, as archival footage? Thanks so much for sharing, this brought back a ton of magical memories!!

@@JessicaLynnOriginalStudios Absolutely, I’ll add a link in the video description, and also include an onscreen credit for any footage used :) The overall video is about the history surrounding Wizard of Oz theme parks and attractions, but since I actually got to experience the MGM Grand a good portion of it will be recounting my specific memories about what it was like to have Oz theming running throughout the hotel, so I’ve been on a hunt for as much footage of the Oz stuff outside of the emerald city as possible (ie- emerald city gift shop, Oz buffet, studio cafe etc…). This has to be the best Oz Buffet footage I’ve found, I love the attention to detail on the mural 🥰 Just subscribed to your channel!

@@loveunitedhateglazer7033 wrong ! There is so much family stuff to do now it's not even funny. AdventureDome, NYNY roller coaster and midway, Area 15, all kinds of theaters for movies bowling alleys, Excalibur Knights show, the list goes on and on. Vegas is very family kid friendly now which it wasn't when I was growing up. I guess you haven't been to Vegas in a while ! Also let's not forget there is like 2-3 water parks with water slides.
