The future has arrived! -Clean: there really is no better way to cook than induction! Wiping whilst cooking is like magic, accurate temperatures and small space form factor is so chic. -Safety: must feel so much safer than dangerous engine vehicles that have orders of magnitude more accidents and fires. -Solar charge anywhere in the world: unclear why the solar cannot power the battery pack? I guess you have to plug into any random power point for a slow charge if away from the official chargers. -Speed accuracy and easier driving: curious if the e-van has the unbeatable digital (micro control, millionths of a second) speed control on cruise, which engines cannot.

It would take 10 days to fully charge this van with the panels they now have. So 250 km travel per week is possible with the current system.
@GreenTravelJournal
Ай бұрын
@@timogronroos4642it would indeed take a long time to charge that way, and to set it up we’d lose warranty on our traction batteries. Once we don’t have warranty anymore we’re planning to do it! But for now, the charging infrastructure across Europe has been more than sufficient to get us to 17 countries and counting 😊

If you build a slide-out solar panel system, they are not usually made with heavy framed panels, but semi-flexible panels, which are much lighter.

Sleeping on 79kWh of power is a tricky thing... IF the battery decides to go, it goes FAST, with very poisonous fumes and virtually unstoppable. It's very unlikely, but very lethal if it happens. ALL exits should be accessible at any time FAST.

100% electric vanlife is the dream but the tech isn't quite there yet to be practical for full time living, maybe when solar gets from 20 to 30ish percent efficiency with some savvy unfolding panels...

Why I didn't use the car battery to use for electricity, what's the point of having Solar and extra batteries if you already have car battery 😅

Cause those vans have no inverter to get power from the HV battery. Ford and mercedes do offer this. 2,2kW AC via an inverter.
