That large bit of kit you asked about was used to weave the cotton, small children would be given the job of quickly diving under the machine while it was operating to pull out the loose cotton so it didn’t get trapped. Lots of kids died doing this and was so dangerous

History on this Mill suggests it was originally built in 1809. Built on a site reputed to have originally been a smeltery and stamp mill established in the 1640s. Although the Tweed Mill would close its doors for the last time in the early 80s where it had been a museum for 30 years, proceeding its closure. A lot of history on this property and clearly a fair amount of paranormal activity dating back hundreds of years to those first to inhabit it. Wow! Deserves more paranormal follow up. I worked as an electrician turning an old mill into a museum, it was exactly the same as this. You could see dug outs in the wall where the kids that worked there would sleep instead of going home .Brings back so many memories. All the machinery is for making cotton material from the bobbins. The black GEC thing on the table is an old DC motor starter. We got it all working again with the water wheel and huge leather belts to run the machines. When we got the machinery running one of the belts came off and nearly sent me to the after life.

Hi Adam, when you were in the basement of the Mill and was using the Digital Voice Recorder and stated "Can you tell me your name?" I thought i heard something. Being a Paranormal Investigator, i saved the clip onto my Digital voice recorder, and ran it thru my software. The voice is very, very faint...but it says: "I can." followed by the word: "Lisa." Thought that might help you. Like i said i almost missed it.

Great investigation Adam, I was googling the word 'Battery' which was mentioned on your device and apparently a Cotton mill had a job of 'Battery filler'. The "batteries" were the ranks of bobbins that fed thread to the loom. Reloading the loom required replacing the empty bobbins with full ones, often a child's job. Fascinating stuff.😀👍

Me and my mum lived many years ago in Lithuania in a haunted flat. Lady and her family were murdered and her body was hidden in nearby. Only years later police find it. One night, my mum saw her shadow. It was a white figure just looking at my mum. My mum, as she described, was like paralysed and couldn't move for a few minutes. once she described what she saw, her relatives, they confirmed it was her. There were lots of weird sounds and weird feelings like watching. We lived for a few years. So ever since i do believe life after death.

This place would have been a great place to ask those questions. Usually when people use SLS it will show the stock figures still working where machines are. Old sewing machines with sls figures working. Also, will you visit the castle now you mentioned down the road or is it occupied?

those panels with the pictures on it were normally 3 panels joined together to form a fold out screen/ privacy (Bedrooms) was quite common in Victorian early Edwardian period these look later on panels are they are a papered very cheap build. The name BOBBY, may actually be a nickname for a mill job performed by the children, so in context to what you saw on the spirit talker, Edith Moore (job) Bobby) The castle you say is a few miles away, but law (court) was mostly handled by a local magistrate, in small towns or villages they held court in where ever had the most coinvent space such as a tavern or mills, now mill sites were reused time and time again this mill maybe mill version 3 or 4 depending on any other suitable water / mill sites. There may of been an execution or judgement of an execution on that site.

This has got to be one of the best yet. Fantastic responses straight away to your questions. I agree with you that you really should have someone with you. My dad started working in a mill when he was 14 until he was called up to do his N/S. Take care Adam, see you on the next one xx

I hope that one day, you will do a sit down video talking about yourself. Tell us about your life, and what has brought you to this point. Maybe, what your dreams and plans are. Just a thought.

Glad to see your feeling better, those machines look to me like some sort of tapestry making machines . Could be totally wrong maybe someone else can clarify x

They are definitely for heavy materials. I was a machine operator and operated a smaller version of this type to roll materials out on the cardboard bolts that you see on shelves in fabric stores.
