I enjoyed it. I am like you - I have a rather messy palette - sort of...and I do give it a bit of a cleaning once in a while. But I do enjoy keeping the "mixes" I create on the palette too as they always find a way into another painting. Thank you for showing us your tips.

Have to say Daniel Smith paints are gorgeous and Moonglow is just so versatile so great choice. I got sick of cleaning my paints this way and in end bought an empty metal paint tin than held quite a few empty full or half pans (48 1/2).I then could add new colours in order really easily and you still have 2 mixing areas. The tin cost me £12 and the empty pans were about £3 ,I even made a swatch card so I could see what was where. It's made my painting times so much easier

Thank you so much for all of your great videos! You are an amazing teacher. Perhaps you've already covered this, but I was wondering what is the best, most environmentally friendly way of disposing of the paint-water? Aren't some of the paints toxic to water tables and animals? Cadmium, cobalt, etc...

I simply use an old brush and water to rewet the paints to be removed. It's easy for me to get all of them especially the ones on the corners

On occasion I will clean off my mixing trays, especially when there is no more room for a different mixture. I too use a wet paper towel to remove the majority of the paint. Should something be left behind I will use a sponge or if necessary a very stiff brush followed by a wet paper towel again. The wells are normally untouched unless I have messed up and put the wrong paint into a well an contaminated that particular well. When that happens I will normally use a wet paper towel again. I did have on occasion removed all of the paint in a particular well in order to place a different paint there. If there is a large amount of removed paint I will place it in a styrofoam egg carton for possible future use. I label the egg carton with the name of the paint. Thanks for this video. I am sure it will help several painters. -OkieSketcher1949

This was a very informative video. I understand about the dog hairs, they are everywhere! 🤦♀️ I let my wet paints dry 24 hours before I close the palette. Sometimes I get what looks like tiny black specks on some paints. I am really hoping that's normal, and nothing serious! I think it's only on dark colors on artist grade and student grade paints. Do you have any knowledge or advice about the specks? Thank you.
