This video is about unboxing a Mercedes Benz 600 in 1/18 scale. Its a product from Sun Star and is made in China. This product cost approximately US$100-00.
The Mercedes 600, also known as Grosser, (code named W100) was produced by Daimler Benz from 1963 until 1981. It came in 3 configurations, the SWB or short wheel base, the Pullman and Landaulet (4 configurations if you include the 4 doors or 6 doors found on the Pullman version). It had a 6.3 litres V8 engine which developed 247hp/184kw. It’s the forerunner of today’s Maybach. An alternative to any Rolls Royce of that era.
The overall fit and finish of this diecast is pretty descent at this price range. It’s very solid and heavy with many metal parts used, even on tiny items like the Mercedes emblem. The sheer weight made it a little difficult for me to film it, with one hand on the car and the other on the camera. The seats have a mild matt finish without the shinny look. This is a nice touch. It has working steering column & bonnet that opens revealing the engine. However, the booth is a permanent fixture and thus cannot be opened. The overall paint quality is pretty good too. I hope this video conveys the fit and finish of the diecast model accurately in the event you are considering a purchase.
This video is for the general public of all ages and not limited to kids.
