Fun fact: classic dragons in really old folklore resembled snakes and serpents, and the term "wyrm" is linked to snakes.

Well he needs to keep those scary looking bastards in Africa we don’t need no dragon snakes in our backyard in America lmao. Snakes are the only thing I’m scared of but it’s crazy I see a Gardner snake and I get all hot and sweaty and shaky it’s stupid like I have no control over it whatsoever and doesn’t happen with anything else not even heights. Then they obviously sense my body heat and beyond fear and will pick me out of everyone to start curling up and staring at. It’s some bs lol. You or anyone know what his goal is with these snakes???? Because I know a lot of people like to buy them as “pets” then as soon as they get too big or whatever else reason comes up they just let them go damn free and like I said I better not see something that looks like a stupid dragon snake in my yard or even at the river that would suck 😅

I’m one of those that doesn’t believe they’re all that toxic. I raised a pair for their entire life. The venom never affected me much if at all. On the other hand. I got bit by my russel viper. That one did some damage. Couldn’t use my arm for awhile. Never gave up on him though. Hope you give these guys a good life.

The venom is very hemotoxic in nature. Envenomation is rare and often in less quantities. If one was to bite you and actually envenomate you with a large dose, you'd probably be dead because there's no Antivenom. The Echis Antivenom only works on particular species of the Bush Vipers.
@KDD23

There a lot of people these days who have all these crazy venomous snakes breeding them and making new species (at least I think I hear a couple of them say that) but what is the ultimate goal for guys like this who just has all these snakes do you know?? Surely the average person can’t just go buy a king cobra right, especially considering a lot of dumbass people especially around where I live in the Midwest dump them out in the wild after getting overwhelmed or something. But ya do you know exactly what these guys do? They just breed em and sell them to anyone and everyone and that’s how they make a living or what?

@saturniidmoff

Does the echis antivenom part really mean it’s that toxic? Like I’ve heard it barely works. Couldn’t that just be because they are different species? And the part of it that does work just be because of being similar types of venom. I mean they are both vipers from Africa. I won’t deny that they are very venomous. I also won’t deny that they aren’t very venomous. I need some hard data which I haven’t seen yet. Doesn’t hurt to assume the worst when working with them though. Not denying that.
@venomman20

It doesn't mean it's that toxic I just was trying to give an example of why we shouldn't under play the venom the way many of these newer keepers are atheris are no joke
