….some people talk about “The Ian Effect” concerning certain French weapons but Aaron has been feeding my interest in M95s .

Great buy Aaron. I ordered a stutzen 2 years ago but what RTI actually sent me was a long rifle in 8x50. Happy with that mistake. My rifle is unit-marked to the 29th FeldJager Battalion.

I have personally handled and cleaned 2 M1 Carbines from RTI. One Saginaw hand select that had about 50 percent finish but had moderate pitting in the last 2 inches of the barrel, and was quite filthy. It holds about a 8 inch group at 100 yards due to the barrel. Another non hand select Standard Products that had a crack in the forend on the stock that ran about 8 inches and a crack at the tang of the stock, it also was wire wheeled about down to 0 finish but fortunately had a decent worn barrel that still shoots about 4 inches at 100 yards. All in all, I wouldn't agree with good to very good condition and was disappointed in the hand select. These were both purchased at $1099 with store credit, and I would say poor to fair condition. A roll of the dice, especially at the higher prices

Whatever you do don't buy the refinished M1 Carbines as they choose the worst looking Carbines to be refinished and worst condition externally usually means worse condition internally, also after they are refinished they both aren't correct looking and hold no collector value

I bought a m95 carbine for 200$. It is good except for the small crack at the back end (you mentioned on video) but the rifling was completely there and all parts there (don't know if it is number matching yet since I didn't have time to clean it. It is a Budapest 1915. And an Enfield Mk3 no1 BSA* 1916 for 300$, no cracks and rifling was there.

I got a Lee-Enfield #4 Mk 1 from the same cache. Only way I'd be able to afford one.

Informative. I'm guessing there are no replacement barrels available for the M95, are there....I have 3, all wire wheeled and can't get the bores clean even after boiling

This video basically sealed the deal for me to purchase one as I’ve wanted something from ww1, for $200 mine was in pretty good shape considering it’s age. Awesome video

Makes me glad I got into handloading lol Was this the carbine or rifle? The Vetterli is on flash sale and I’d like to pick up a Mannlicher too, which do you recommend?
