Hi Mikey, I'm an Englishman who retired with his wife to Spain. I decided to start cycling again but due to the fact that it is quite a hilly area and the temperatures are high, my wife suggested I try an ebike, and I absolutely love it. Mine is an NCM and we decided to get one for my wife and got her an Ancheer. Both are 250W, but my wife is finding it a little tough on the Ancheer, so we started to look for an alternative. I really like your videos and was really interested in the one where you talked about SinglesDay shopping holiday in China and how it was safe to buy from AliExpress, because I have looked at the site many times but have been frightened off by the risk of losing my money. After seeing that video I thought it would not be as risky as I thought, so we picked out a 400W Lankeleisi bike. We felt that would give her the extra help she needed to keep up with me. At first it was supposed to be coming from Spain and then they asked would it be ok if it came from China due to the Covid19 situation. We were happy to accept that. A couple of months later it eventually arrived. On assembly it was clearly not of the quality I expected. The frame and gears appear acceptable. The wheels and spokes are of poor quality. The battery rattles in the holder on the bike and was supposed to be an 18ah LG, but the sticker on it says 18ah Samsung, which would also be acceptable, but the casing seems of poor quality which does make me wonder. After assembly, before my wife rode it, to make sure it was safe I rode it myself and it is clearly not 400w, as it struggles on the slightest slope, which the other two bikes sail up. The LCD screen does not register the charge of the battery on the indicator, although when you flip through the different modes it does register 41.8volts, which for a 36v battery means it is fully charged, so I removed the battery holder on the bike to check if there was a loose connection and discovered that the controller is only 11amps. This means that the peak wattage of the motor would be 36v x 11amps = 396watts. The motor is labelled with the peak wattage and not the nominal wattage as you would expect, and as indeed the NCM and Ancheer are labelled. The front mudguard does not fit. The preassembled rear mudguard does not follow the contour of the wheel. The seller does not respond, and the response from AliExpress was to negociate with the seller until I pointed out that it is difficult to do when they are not responding. The dispute procedure has led to what appears to be a final offer of a refund of 172 euros out of a total selling price of 858 euros, which is around 20% of the cost, but would still leave me with a bike that is unfit for use. To try and sell it would make me as dishonest as the original seller so I have no wish to do that. My question is, with your experience of dealing with AliExpress, do you have any suggestions of how to deal with this problem? Surely AliExpress must realise that this is not the way to build a customer base. You obviously buy in bulk; have you ever heard if this treatment is the norm for ordinary retail customers because obviously we don't have the buying power? I know this is not your fault by the way, it was purely to ask for advice on how to deal with them because I seem to be getting nowhere. I also hope this will serve as a warning to others thinking of buying from AliExpress.

If I wasn't in such a rural area, I'd probably have dropped some cash on this. 30-ish MPH wouldn't be too terrible around town, but getting to town would take forever. This bike definitely needs more attention. I wonder how many Cub parts are cloned and if you can replace anything with them on this bike, would be interesting to find out. This looks to be more practical than the Cub 125cc at twice the price. I do wish most eBikes were these frames instead of road bikes and dutch city bikes. For all the reasons you mention. Drivers know what to expect from a moped. It has signals, proper lights, visual width, a horn and solid retro motorcycle drum brakes. It can hold half a lane on a roadway, stay out of bike lanes (where fast eVehicles don't really belong) and move left for a turn like any small motorcycle... Because that is what it is.

These hub motors usually have three settings. When it limits you to 32mph it is in a European mode as in many countries you can drive a motorbike/scooter etc. when it doesn't have more than 50cc/4kw and isn't faster than 45kmh. There's also a motorized bike mode where it only drives 25kmh as this a very cheap license that you can make at a very young age and is easy to get. Then there's unlimited mode where it'll do about 40mph/64kmh like your csc wiz.

That sounds similar to my electric trike, is people give me plenty of space and treat it almost like I am on a motorcycle even though it is simply an adult trike that has been converted to electric. And the nice thing is people are always asking me about it, and where I got it and can they get one. I usually tell them that it is a conversion, that can be gotten through Walmart but recommend buying a pre built ebike from a reputable company as apposed to building one themselves. But that is because I do not know a lot about ebikes, or about all the different conversion kits.

In the U.K. the speedometers register about 10% above the actual speed so that you have less chance of being caught by a speed trap. Honda designed the Super Cub for delivery riders of pizza or Chinese food for example.

I would have liked to see the battery charged and installed also, but it is a nice looking scooter and the speed limit in the country towns around here is 30, except in school zones on school days, ha ha, yeah we don't have much school yet, you know, plus the Midwest is CAH and kinda snowy, but it really would be nice to play with in the spring.

I love how it looks and the price, but around here it wouldn't work. 35mph posted roads most people are going 50. It's even a struggle for some smaller gas scooters not to get run over. But everyone's experience would vary I suppose. Wonder if swapping the hub motor or controller out would be possible someday?

Yup. This is not quite enough to drive with cars like a motorcycle can.

Very nice e-scooter. I really like the custard and cream colour scheme. I have heard though that in America if you ride a scooter people will think that you had lost your license through drink-driving.

I've ridden the app rental scoots in San Francisco, about the same performance, it's just too slow, even in super dense city like sf, neeps to go like 45 tops, and lane splitting is a bit sketchy with such slow acceleration. Wish they put a little more power in these

Enjoyed the video. I agree, you don't have to zoom everywhere. The only item on my wish-list would be that you include range and charge time. As I'm watching I'm wondering if I could make the ride from Lakeland to Kissimmee and find a way to charge up for the ride back.

Seeing thumbnail I was like is the a Honda cub in electric? Too bad it can go just a little faster like 43-45mph that 32mph is a littles slow for traffic where I live. I ride a Honda Ruckus that I have does so adjustment to a carb and run between 38-42 in town and sometime people be trying to run me off the road. But it is so cool!
