Great job Dave, you provided some good information. Not great that you have to make modifications to the trailer, hope it has worked out for you.

Spoiler alert - In the end, Vevor could not replace the axle and offered an $80 refund, which I accepted. I am glad they cared enought to try and make it square...that means a lot! Thanks for watching! Dave Out!!

Glad you were able to overcome the obstacles. I'm thinking Lillie left when the tools started flying around the garage because of the inaccurate instructions! 😂🤣😂

The reason you had issues was you tightened the side plates. Need to leave bolts loose!!! until all installed.

I tried attaching the axle with bolts loose as well as with tightened. I wrenched the axle with loose bolts as far as I could and was not able to insert a bolt into hole in the axle bracket. After that I tighted the axle bracket bolts on one side and redrilled the holes. To proved this point, the manufacturing engineers looked at the photos of misalignment and agreed with my assessment. At 6:27 of the video you can clearly see how misaligned the axle bracket is as the hole on the left is 80% blocked. End of day, there was no argument with Vevor about the issue being a misaligned weld off the bracket to the axle. Vevor tried to find a replacement axle with brackets for me, but due to the product being sold out, they were unable to.

For some reason Vevor do not sell that trailer over here. We have a few Vevor products and we found they are good for an overseas supplier. I tend to not even try to read the instructions for overseas products 🙂 Great video, thanks

Thanks Joseph! You are right and generally I take instructions with a grain of salt. Should have this time as well. I do like the trailer as I have been using it now. It is solid! Thanks for watching! Take Care! Dave Out!!

Thanks for your video Dave! Yeah the instructions leave a lot to be desired. I had trouble with the square tubes that the fencing slides into. A couple were bent so I had to fix that issue. Also, the black mat isn't very sturdy so I ripped a piece of particle board to use when I want to haul loose things. All in all for the price I paid ($253 including tax & shipping) it's not bad. Wish it used a ball mount instead of a clevis pin.

I definitely had a chuckle at the instructions for sure! After the issue I had with the axle, I was expecting issues with the sides, but mine all lined up. You are so right for the price it is worth the issues. I will be replacing the black mat as well. Thanks for watching and the great comment!

@@daveshsb Hi Dave. Short term I can mention this. The trailer tongue has a 1/2" hole for a 1/2" [supplied] hitch pin. My ATV hitch has a 5/8" hole for pins and ball mounts! I think most ATV hitches are the same. Rather than have the hitch pin be loose I used a stepped drill bit and drilled the tongue out to 5/8" and use a standard pin. Secondly, the top bolts which hold the axle mount onto the body have the threads inward - this is what the instructions showed. Well if you haul anything like rocks you'll soon see the exposed bolt threads taking a beating. So I removed the upper bolts and reinstalled them with the threads outward. I know that looks like a crazy person put the trailer together, but the bolt threads are now free from harm. Lastly, have you ever noticed how the VEVOR trailer looks identical to many others? Cabela's, Motoalliance, and Polar Mesh to name a few. Not surprising a KZitem video titled "Who the Heck is VEVOR? (We found out!)" explains how. Rather than get into the details, I urge all to watch it.

I am going to do that as well, drilling out the hole. It is tough at times to get the pin in the bottom part of the tongue. I agree with on the bolts as well. I will make that change too. Good calls! So I did look up the video and spend some time looking at the company. I had bought some of their other products, not realizing it was Vevor until I watched Farmcraft 101 - he seems to promote a lot of vevor products. The first thing I purposely bought from Vevor was the ATV Trailer - and you see how that worked out - although their customer service did come through in the end. Harbor Frieght of China. I like that. I buy harbor freight products, but I know what I am getting when I do. I think I will approach Vevor the same way. Great information! Thanks!!

@@daveshsb Hello again Dave. Another issue. The other night I was hauling three 5 gallon jugs of water to water my small trees when I noticed the back of the trailer starting to sag downward. Removing the side rails I flipped the trailer over and starting looking at what was going on. Well it was obvious when I saw the bolts were starting to "dimple" the square tubes that are connected by the bolts. If this trailer is having problems with some water how long will it last under real use? Ok so I removed the axle and tongue leaving the just two frame pieces. Tossing the frame into my truck I took it to my nephew for some welding! I had my nephew weld the two frame pieces together and weld two pieces of steel long ways on the bottom above the axle. Moral of the story -> VEVOR is Harbor Freight of China or worse. My Dad's words "If it seems too good to be true, it is" still ringing in my head. Considering my time and paying my nephew for the welding, the trailer is now about double the cost. If there is a "next time," I will look at the trailer in person - or better yet, I'll make my own!
