I'm one of those people who likes D2 over some of the "better" knife steels. Well done D2 is great knife steel and I a super steel snob.

I agree as far as when it's done well I have tested amazing d2 that out cuts s35 but 98% of all the d2 coming from oversea is not that, it has to be small production or custom

@@NeevesKnivesI have heard that K110 tends to outperform generic D2 is that true?

I like d2 in some of the overseas stuff if it is name brand. But what I really like it for is electro etching

Great vid Jerad, personally not a fan of these type of boxes because i tend to research the hell out of my purchases to fit my needs and the items are mostly overstock stuff that didnt sell on the regular market. The Value is somewhat there but it seems like the prices are inflated quite a bit. On the other hand If you like surprises then by all means go for it as in worse case scenario you can make some money back by selling some or all of it. Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.

They aren't inflating the prices you can see when he shows the Steel Will BladeHQ page it is MSRP that they are quoting which all sites do to claim they are offering a discount even though everyone has pretty much the same price

Whole industry is heading for disaster, no pocket knife should cost more than 100, you got a 600 dollar knife ? Weird.

Hey Neeves, just wondered if you heard of Medford Knives black card program that dropped last week and if you were thinking of jumping in on it? You put a grand down and then you get either 25% return on your investment at the end of a year or you can choose the mystery knife. Only 250 units are going to be made and never again will anyone have the black card knife. Pretty sweet for us collectors! Trying to get the word out before they all get snatched up.

I love d2 for easy of customization. I acid etch and electro etching it and it’s very easy for me to sharpen

Jared, what micron gunny juice would you recommend for deburring d2 when stopping at 400-600 grit on the stones. I'm finding that I'm still struggling to properly deburr the wire edge all of the time. The reason i know this is because i can deburr perfectly every time with a leather belt on my work sharp using moderate pressure while the belt is moving slow. I Mostly only run into this problem with d2 or something similar when stopping at lower grits on the stones. Higher grit steel like 14c 28n don't seem to show this as bad

6 - 12 , the higher the more aggressive. try to fatigue it on a very hard stone if possible like a ceramic that usually works great, softer steels can have burr removal issues

You dudes are some knife loving fools! I got all wrapped around the axel about losing all my Civivi knives because of their POS pocket clips. Asked some questions about clips, & haven’t even checked to see if I got a answer. But I will..& next knife I buy is going to be one of the good high value budget ones that you really like on here. When there’s a good deal going on the one I want. You know your stuff!Like a drop point with a good belly on it,aluminum or makarta scales…probably,or anything that is good stuff & shaped correctly.& FYI,I’m hearing what you’re saying about that little area /ledge,of the knife that sets you up for a proper sharpening.without going too far/messing up the blade.forget what you called it... Which brings me to the next point, I think I need a nice ,small sharpening tool that I can keep close by while on the go . I like to keep the edge right. I don’t need a big bench model. I will use a good small one often. Suggestions on what to get?so I will be looking into how to do that properly and with what sharpening tool .if the clip is crap, I’ll order a after market one that I like & make it fit the knife. Have access to a dental lab. Air drive hand tools w variable RPM ,all sorts of bead ,sand, blasting, cutting, polishing etc ect ect. You name it. Thx guys. Enjoy!
