It took me long enough to research, lol! This is one where my own curiosity got the best of me. I couldn’t go with Sideshow’s list this time. I left no stone unturned on that little rascal, haha! Damn near broke the Arc Welder though if I kept tugging at it the way I was. Anyway, happy to help! You killed it in your review as well man!🍻🙌🏼

You crushed it as always, congrats on your first R2. I have the SS one and this was my first HT R2. After listening to you list the names of his tools I definitely mis quoted some 😂 but thats ok, thanks for helping the community bro 💪🏼

Thank you, thank you! I’m sure the Hot Toys version got a little more heft to it in hand compared. I think you mentioned it in your review as well. I was definitely waiting on this one instead. Haha, it’s all good man. Some of us don’t have that kind of time to put into researching all of the parts. If we can give a starting point, it works out. Thanks for watching man!🙏🏼🍻

you continue to reach new heights with the production value, and using the clone to show off the accessories is a great idea. thanks for all the effort you put in.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Like I said to another supporter, it ruins the immersion if I just flicked them around in my hand. Definitely didn’t want that so I had to come up with something. Thank you watching and taking the time out to comment, Futura! 🙏🏼🍻

Yeah, I don't think you're missing out unless you want a different paint application for the most part. Wish I had the restraining bolt and data card though, because those pieces are pretty cool! Thanks for watching, El Taino! 🙏

Great in-depth review. I have the previous HT version of R2D2 - unfortunately the batteries on the light and sounds just don't last very long. And having to remove the dome to turn them on and off is a pain. That is one area where the Sideshow version excels over Hot Toys.
@BostonCollectors
Жыл бұрын
Thank you, thank you. Are the lights the same on that one as well? Just 2 functions where they’re ALL going off? Yeah, I’m definitely passing on taking the dome off and on. That’s too much to go through for me personally. The idea is there, so I’m solid. 🤝

Once again your reviews take it to the next level 🙌 top tier quality. R2 is definitely a pricey little one but for me, he’s definitely an upgrade from the Sideshow version. Not sure if I’ll be doing the same for 3PO but we’ll wait and see. Keep up the great work dude👌

Thank you, thank you! You know how we give it up! 🤝 I'm hearing it's reasonable for that exact reason, believe it or not. No idea what Sideshow's version was like, but as always, Hot Toys is givin' them a run for their money, haha! Thanks for watching man!

Nice review! Personally I don’t think the price is too bad compared to some other figures. It comes with all those attachments, a diecast dome, sound effects and remote too…. 👍🏼
@BostonCollectors

Yeah, sounds like what I mentioned actually. If it’s the diecast and electronics in the dome, then I get it, but geez. Either way, thanks for watching David. 🍻🙏🏼

Am new to your CH. Great narration & misc background. Of note, am new to HTs in 2024. Besides some online articles, believe 99% of my action figure(s) education is the YT vid binging so far; 200+ various vids from ~20 or so YT-ers. Because yours already appears well produced + researched, may I ask your background? Photography, star wars enthusiast, etc, etc. Feel free to reference a previous vid if you have such. Have subscribed. All the best.

What a thorough and informative review! I love how you utilized the clone as a NPC to get the theme going! I think they could have given us a tad more for what we paid for, but the allure of a gorgeous R2D2 is almost impossible to resist! Looking forward to more awesome work

Thank you, Satya! Took enough time to research I’ll say that, haha! The parts are so tiny I felt like the immersion would’ve been lost had I showcased them in my own hand. Not to mention feeling one dimensional if I’d kept on with R2, so adding in a clone was perfect. I almost had Anakin do it, but his joints aren’t as stiff as I’d like them to be. Anyway, I’m not sure what else they couldve given us outside of a better stand, but the price is a little steep for what we get. On Sideshow Seconds he’s $229.50, and THAT feels like a steal. Thanks for watching as always and sharing your thoughts! We appreciate you. 😄❤️

Thank you, thank you! No I don’t use a green screen. Everything you see is used with 3-4 lights, black paper and a DSLR. 😄
