You're really giving us great information and the demo shows how this particular table fits with your new Pfaff. I've had a Babylock for decades after I gave my Pfaff 122E to a friend in church and I have to tell you how much I miss that IDT!! So, in my search to get a new Pfaff, saw one locally and your unboxing was just before I bought it. I really think you'll see the difference in your work with this machine. I hope you love it and just go to town! Thanks again for your great videos!

Have seen Designs by Jude patterns for a while now but only came across the KZitem channel this week. Loving it so far as really professionally put together and so clear! I noticed the ‘old’ sewing machine in one of the videos I watched and it took me back to my mother’s Singer treadle machine from the 1940s, that she taught me to sew on. I bought a Frister and Rossman Cub7 in 1977 and it is still going strong, virtually maintenance free beyond dusting out the bobbin casing - I’m even still on the original oil bottle that’s how little attention it needs! The Cub’s disadvantage is that it has a very small sewing bed but I don’t think it was ever a major problem - i just place it more to the right of my table so that I have space on the left to take the weight of any large items. My doubt about the Sew Steady platform is how far away it moves the machine. I look at your new Pfaff (and many other new sewing machines) and it just freaks me out that sewing now seems to need a computer. Spending a large part of the day sitting at a computer screen already doesn’t endear me to the idea of having another one “controlling” my hobby.

I was really hesitant to get a new machine. I just moved the older one into my guest room this week. Yesterday I bought a 1/4" metal foot. It made all the difference for me because I like to line my fabric up with the side of the foot. I am getting more comfortable with the new one. Loving the thread cutting feature and the needle threader. Thank you for watching. Please consider subscribing if you haven't already. :)

That will be a great Christmas gift. I got my first one for Christmas when I was about 10.

if you have a jigsaw you can make a wooden table. I just made a 20"x33" table for my singer heavy duty 4452 from $17 Ikea ivar bookshelf and $22 Ikea "vinliden" wood legs. need a jigsaw, sand paper, and a router and/or some way to shorten the wooden legs (so that table top is flush with your sewing machine surface).

The extension table looks nice. My concern is that is is just sitting next to the machine. Is there a way to lock it into place? Something that prevents a klutz like me from bumping the side and possibly needing to continually shift it back into place?

I have had one before and they don’t shift. They are cut specifically for whatever machine you own.

@@linnarogerssalter4980 I had this same size extension table for my retired Husqu/Viking machine. The feet on the legs that snap in have rubber on the bottom and they don't shift. When I first used the leg with the suction cup, that one shifted a bit, but I didn't have it adjusted up enough. Once I adjusted the height correctly, it was snug and no more issues. I have recently purchased the Pfaff Ambition 620 and plan to purchase the Sew Steady that fits this machine. Game changer for sewing larger projects!

I personally worked in sewing factories using industrial machines flats, and sergers. when I finally bought a new family sewing machine it took me a while to adapt, everything was foreign for me. I was missing my huge flat and stable surface, I was missing my machine speed, was missing my knee presser foot, etc... but finally with pushing myself to use my new machine I got used too. it can be a long and frustrating process. be gentle with yourself.

Thank you for the encouragement. I am slow to upgrade things. I was similar with my phone and my studio camera. Once you master it, you often wonder why you waited so long.
