Tough to defend the price especially when theyve done things that make good buget options like reversable clip and deep carry without recessed screws. If im paying custom prices, i dont want to see lefthand clip screw holes or the same clip thats on my $60 knives. What sets this knife apart are the thinness and updated bar lock. That to me doesn't justify the extra $200. I wouldn't hesitate if it was around the $330 mark but as is now, im gonna have to think about it

I plan on picking one up. American made knives are expensive, no doubt. That being said, this knife is very expensive for what it is. If it was around $350 it would be a lot more realistic. Then again, Benchmade’s pricing is not realistic on any of their models. Fortunately, a lot of online retailers regularly have 20-25% off sales and that’s when I’ll pull the trigger. $525 puts it in the category of much higher quality small batch American brands. I don’t see this one selling well at its current price. Benchmade is charging too much for R&D for this one. For an extra $160, you can get into a Koenig Arius which is one of the best production knives money can buy IMO. The Anthem is an interesting comparison. I have two of them and they are without a doubt the finest knife benchmade has ever produced. Integral, crowned spine, loads of milling, milled Ti clip, unique thumbstud etc.

The design and changes from the normal Benchmade are interesting to say the least. Change up in blade steel, use of titanium, change in the axis lock. Yah, all interesting. The concept great with the narrow body, thus the Narrows. All that being said, They are out of their minds with this price. I could see $400 after the B Tax, anymore just makes no sense. They are pricing the narrows in the CRK range. I would drop my $522 + $3 on a Sebenza 31 Large, without blinking and eye before I would give any debate for the Narrows. With that, I agree with just about every other person that has laid a hand on the Narrows, interesting design, just can't justify the price.
