Too bad that even in the Philippines, SE Asian foods are not as famous as Western ones until quite recently (except in Southern Philippine Mindanao and Sulu islands, where close proximity with Indonesia and Malaysia have more access to their cuisines) It was just only in recent years that different casual dining shops appeared offering some of Vietnamese and Thai dishes in urban areas, and Malaysian/Singaporean/Indonesian food shops are still considered gourmet. Heck, Filipinos would not have known of Mi Goreng if not of AlfaMarts blooming into our very neighbourhood!

"soft-shell crab" is actually any crab that just recently molted. there is a period of time between removal of old carapace and hardening of new one since they can't make a new bigger one inside old smaller one. In nature, these crabs would be in hiding until their shells are hardened.

@@sigasana441 mostly they are caught and kept in farm until they molt, then they are remove from water before the shell can harden. Apparently, though, there are some "farm" that try to speed up the molting by remove crab's limb(s), since molting is also what allow some crab to regenerate lost limbs.

Josh and Olly tasting Malaysian food!!!! have been watching korean Englishman and was amazed by the concept when i 1st watched, introducing Korean food to westerners. That time i actually left a comment saying they should try Malaysian food since they like Korean food (at least Josh, Olly is more on toast, maybe he can try Roti Canai, lol), the varieries of Malaysian food choice since we have malay, indian, chinese, fusion food. Now my dream come true. But there are much more to try, Jolly. cant wait for u all to try more Malaysian food

whilst true that Malaysian food has been around in the UK, particularly London for quite a while now, and I've eaten it quite a bit in my time spent there, it's still overshadowed by food from countries like Thailand, etc. Hope more people learn more about our food and country as I feel we are still not marketed overseas as well as our neighbours.
