I wish I lived nearby, this guy seems like a real cool guy to hang out with cleaning culverts and drains.

It’s a shame that no one other than you seems to make an effort to clean those culverts. Cheers, man

This man needs to get paid and employed by the local government. Even if it is just a part time job for a few hours a day. Can someone in this blokes area have a word with someone. I am sure he would put the local workers to sham? Your doing a great job and I am super impressed - Downunder Australia

Honestly your local boy and girl scout groups should follow you one day and have you explain the importance of maintenance of these systems and proper design, etc. You are really inspiring.

watching the water get more glassy around the edges while you clear the grate is quite satisfying.

I love this guy - I find these videos fascinating and spend so long watching them - there is something very satisfying about unblocking drains.

I'm a civil engineer by training and I find these old structures fascinating. I mostly didn't deal with storm drain systems but I have a real appreciation for the old-time craftsmanship that went into constructing them. The fact that they're still serving their purpose well over a century after they were built is a testimony to the quality of the materials, tradesmen and engineers involved in the work. I really enjoy it when you take the time to explore these.

He does this bc it's so satisfying to do it. I have OCD. And I used to walk creek beds and clear stuff out of the way just to watch the water flow more smoothly

There is something very cathartic about doing this kind of work, as the fruit of one's labor is rather immediate.

The sound of running water is therapy to the ears and soul. Plus it so helps when someone wants sleep.

I’ve never seen a round tube-like culvert with rebar in it. That other side was magnificent wasn’t it. My skin was absolutely crawling for you, with the snails 🐌 and spiders 🕷 and such. Crawling!

This is so interesting, I've always had a thing for waterways, especially culverts, the LA River & hidden rivers running under London & Birmingham (my home) in UK, fascinates me. Keep up the good work.

I think that lake drain is one of my favourites...I could listen to that water gushing to send me to sleep. Oh and how is your fridge now? Did you need to turn down the thermostat as you suspected? Hope so...
