My husband was asked to work in oil field in Amazon forest. Telling him they will pay him up to 15,000 month for 6 months. Telling him he would live on sites after laying down all the good stuff and money and blah blah first class there and back. They said oh and you will have paid military contractors. You don’t have to worry about paying for them. They will keep you safe and help you navigate the rainforest. They told him to watch out for tribes that have guns, and tribes with bows and arrows and darts. Before he agreed he googled about it and said absolutely not. It’s dangerous and he thought it was fucked up how oil and gas companies were treating the tribes out there

I think he was referring to “Empire of the Summer Moon” by S.C. Gwynne. He referred to that book around 5:26

I’ve been one of those missionaries. It takes up to 10-15 years to make relations with those tribes like the Shipibo people. Many many different languages. Almost one per tribe. So damn cool. Totally untouched society

Do you think God wants you to trick them, trap them, and force them to believe what you believe? Do you really think they don't know God? 😂

Absolutely awful, the problem with the world is that the most important thing to us in this world is something man made (money and making as much as possible) and not bettering the world we live in. Thinking of the betterment of others regardless of gain/cost, most people only help if it's to their benefit.

It makes me so, so sad, that nobody cared for this uncontacted tribes. This is horrible. It doesn't matter wether these people are shooting arrows at us or not, this is a crime, it's sad what is been done to them

What lovely missionaries, I'm sure they're not paid people pretending to be missionaries
