What a breath of fresh air to see all that big beautiful blue sky! It has been SO terribly gray and dreary for months up here in the Pacific Northwest, and this gave me a much needed lift today. A complete opposite of how and where I live. Nobody does a better walking tour, so why not Miami? I’ve said it before, but it’s easy to feel like I’ve tagged along by the time the outro plays. The historical highlights, recollections, editing, narration, videography.. and SUN.. It’s all there. Thanks to you and Ily for the two days(!) of walking in order to offer not only a glimpse of an ever changing and definitive American cityscape, but also, of “home”. A perfect mid-winter episode. Loved it.

I come over to the computer to give the thumbs up to help your YT algorithm. Then I go to my big tv to watch. My computer desk crimps my legs and feet too much. LOL. I also have to have ALL my work done to treat myself to tv. I normally wait until Sunday but I cannot wait on this one. It's so nice to see you in your natural environs! My best to sweet Mrs. Ely! ( not sure how to spell her name ). I keep hoping to run into y'all at the Tallahassee home Depot ( no HD in Perry I presume lol ) so I can take y'all to lunch like other viewers do. I can have a dream eh? Blessings to you both.

Fantastic post! The mall in my home city is dying, even though I remember it being blasted for construction and did many fire department walk throughs as it was being built. I think we’ll miss them if they disappear as a whole.

New to your channel and I really like it. Keep up the good work. This video is very nostalgic for me. I grew up in Miami. My dad used to live in 3rd Street and Ocean Drive back in 1985. The only reason he lived there was cause it was one of the cheapest rents in Miami. lol. Things have definitely change. 🍻(IPA)

If you want to try a cruise I would advise travelling on a smaller ship, with a higher staff/passengers ratio. It is more expensive but well worth it. I had great expiriences with oceania cruises.

Perfect timing for this! I will be in Miami really soon to get on one of those cruise ships. It has been a few years since the last time. I do not have much time so I'll just be hanging out around the Bayside area. The weather looks so nice!

Thanks for the tour! You certainly had a nice day for it. I've road-tripped to southern Florida several times but never made it to Miami, so this is really cool. At 9:30 the graffiti on the building looks a lot like what's going on with the unfinished skyscraper in LA right now. See you tomorrow on the chat!

Terrible, everything changed for the worse. Bah... Ugly south beach, one way ocean drive, everything is so expensive. I've been to Miami beach in 2005,2006, 2010 and 2018. We can see the decline. So sorry.

I understand change is not always welcomed. We want things to remain the same; yet Miami was destined to change. As we age sometimes it’s harder to accept, it’s moving too fast. I live here in Miami now 36 years and it’s almost unrecognizable. As for South Beach yes not my cup of tea; but recently rented a unit for a client West end of Lincoln Rd and was captured by a better side to it and enjoyed being over there. And as for cost; All major popular cities are pricey.
