Underfire is a feature-length documentary film about Tony Vaccaro, a WWII infantryman who used his $47.00 portable 35mm camera to create one of the most comprehensive and intimate records of the war, in thousands of images, often developed in helmets at night. Though on a par with the great war photographers of his time, Tony kept these photos locked away for decades in an effort to put the war behind him. Featuring contributions from Pulitzer Prize-winning NY Times photographer #TylerHicks, Curator of the Fine Art Museum of Houston, #AnneTucker, #JamesEstrin, of the New York Times, and former photo editor of Life Magazine and Robert Capa John Morris.
