I think if Tenchu Came on the Demo disk that came with the PS1 in the same way Metal Gear Solid did - this Game would have been an even larger success :) Good video!

Tenchu needs to be brought back like Hitman was. Explore the more sandboxy nature of the game, give us big open-ended maps with multiple objectives.

I loved this game but the real masterpiece is the sequel. That story is outstanding (especially Tatsumaru parts), the characters were brilliant and even the mini-game was pretty entertaining for me (much better than Minecraft) but somehow nobody talks about it. Tenchu 2 is extremely underrated.

It’s very good but gaining Grand Master on the levels is demanding to the point of frustration. It also pulls way back on the music which is a big detriment to me. The first game’s soundtrack is arguably the best of the generation - and that’s up against some strong competition.
@Eshanthegreat

@@hyperdeath84 i do have to agree on tenchu 2 but imo the problem is not that it's brutal because tenchu 2 has enemies that are pretty easy to get by but what the problem is a clear lack of communication of what it wants the player to do sometimes getting spotted only once and still scoring 550+ points won't get you grandmaster other times it's more than enough also i still don't get what is the role of moves in the ranking system

@@enrique7934Sekiro's possibly the closest to Tenchu in recent times, yes, but mostly in a superficial manner. Sekiro's combat's addicting (oh mikiri counter, I love thee) and the use of the grappling hook is decent albeit situational, the stealth ranges from dogsh*t to rudimentary. Furthermore, Sekiro's just a light spin on the usual Souls formula, so no sandbox level design encouraging experimentation in the manner of a proper stealth game like Tenchu.

Ah yes the debug menu, where you could spawn an npc and have it be controlled by the 2nd controller. Fun stuff. You could play the game with 2 players this way, just gotta deal with the fact that you need to stay in the main characters field of view to know what you were doing

We all wanted to be ninjas when we were kids.. Thank you Sho Kosugi! Ironic in that he actually was said to have worked on this game himself as part of the team! While the original Tenchu trilogy was quite noteworthy I recall especially taking a liking to Shadow Assassins on PSP.. I believe this series really paved the way for stuff like Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Ghost of Tsushima.. And, it all started with The Last Ninja on C64.. Oddly enough also by Activision..

Shinobido Way of the Ninja basically its a clone from Tenchu, but a better version from what I can tell, the vibe and experience from Shinobido Way of the Ninja it's so unique and underrated, in my opinion it's the best Ninja game ever that was creat it, for me personally in Shinobido I feel more like a true ninja, because I can go and play and choose much more type of missions, and your actions are more versatile unlike in Tenchu games where your actions are too liniar and simple, In Shinobido you have more freedom in your actions of the story and the gameplay aspects, the Concept of the fact that you can choose so many diverse type of missions and you can extend your way of playing in almost every sense, that's what makes Shinobido In my eyes a much better choice than Tenchu, I don't say that Tenchu is so bad, actually I have all the games of the series, but from my experience on both games, Shinobido will offer a more unique feeling, also try and listen some Soundtracks of Shinobido, the vibe of these soundtracks are so divine, all I can say its that I feel more like a true ninja when I play Shinobido, than when I play Tenchu... I hope you understand my point of view... ☯️
