Definitely appreciate your version of explaining what the difference is... I've watched at least 20 videos trying to understand it completely. By the time I watched yours I had it pretty much figured out. But wish you were one of those first ones I watched..lol....

Yes sir, and many thanks for your great easy to understand information, I just purchased a VORTEX CROSSFIRE II for my Ruger 10/22 rifle, I chose the 2‐7x32, and wasn't quite sure what the first and second focal planes were all about, great video sir. 🇺🇸👍

I shoot some fairly long distances with air rifles. They have a very fast drop off ballistic curve and I find a FFP scope to be fantastic. Why? Because I can learn my range holdover and it stays the same regardless of magnification. I have not had much luck dialing even high dollar scopes due to many factors so I simply use a set Zero and FFP scope and learn the holdovers for that particular rifle and pellet weight and stick with it. No surprises. Cheers Kit

That's a great way to do it! FFP is awesome for holdovers, keeps it simple. Thanks for sharing!

Fine video. I want to know which scope is good for FX Impact MK-2 Airgun? Plz..

Most companies make a pretty decent scope these days. A more important part will be getting quality rings for your setup. Expensive scopes and cheap scopes will have their performance confounded by shoddy rings torqued improperly. Air guns do have a weird recoil impulse that sometimes is rough on optics, therefore we'd recommend a scope manufacturer that will warranty your scope for life. Hope that helps!

*So if you have a target that changes position, a FFP would be best.(?)* *Maybe you could explain the beneficial application of these two types. (why someone would want one over the other)*

what everyone seems to miss is what should be the clearest explanation, FFP reticle puts the reticle at a focus in front of the zoom optics, a SFP reticle is at a focus after the zoom optics so FFP and the reticle stays same size relative to the object..as you zoom into a deer the reticle changes size same as the deer SFP and the reticle stays same size relative to your view as the object gets bigger or smaller

In the other hand..when zeroing a rifle we must set to higher zoom ? Does it correct. Although it SFP either FFP scope

Isnt that ... doesnt matter with the center crosshair at the scope zero distance?

Sooo thats why im missing my shot with the second focal plane... i zeroed in my lowest magnification...🧐 this explains why im off if i zoom in at a target further away right??

Your center crosshair should not deviate bullet impact with changing magnification. FFP and SFP are equal in regards to the center crosshair. It only impacts you for holdovers. If you are seeing a shifting zero with magnification changes on your center crosshair it is highly likely you have either torqued your screws on your rings too much or your rings have high spots, either way that can cause the shape of your scope tube to deflect, so it's more of an oval than a circle. This will cause your erector tube to be impeded when changing magnification and will shift your zero and likely give you wandering groups or wandering zero or no shot consistency. Hope that helps!

@@SierraWhiskeyCo sure did help thank you. What i meant was if i have it zeroed at lets say 50 yards magnification wont matter as long as im shooting 50 yards. But lets say if i try shooting at 20 yards my center crosshair is not my aim point anymore
