It is important to take revelation and inspiration literally and contextually. The Ancient Egyptians, Hindus, and Babylonians believed in gendered light beings, but lacked support from their tradition, except from the conclusions of scholars and priests. It is important to distinguish between what attracts or repels other creations and that done to invoke or evoke them.

A narration says souls r the head of an angel, won't that make that angel above Gabriel? Coz the soul of prophet Muhammad is amongst it?

Each narration has to be explored seperately on its merits :)
