You really need to keep this up. Very informative without expecting us to have prior knowledge.

Your demo of ensuring the bit fits the screw was so enlightening! Off to watch your fastener types video. Your voice is perfect for KZitem videos. Thanks!

Thank god i found this video. Its so fun to watch someone talk about that they know. I hate using phillips(PH2) because they cam out easy to reduce stripping, cant ever tighten them down hard and when there soft aluminum once removed go straight in the trash. I only use screwdrivers if they have to be insulated, if not ill be there forever. Drill driver for precise tension and impact for screws in wood with glue in between joints.

@3:24 the term "flathead" refers to the screw itself, not the bit. The bit is called "standard" or "slotted."Don't worry, i used to make the same mistake myself 😅

Robertson Screw > Philips Screw Robertson head screws are my favorite. Put the screw on the bit and it stays. You can even hold it upside down and shake it and most of the time it still stuck to the bit. No magnet needed. Doesn't seem it cams out or strip like the Phillips or any other style of bits. As an American, I'm very jealous of our Canadian brothen. They got it right on screw bits. I spit at Henry Ford for keeping the Robertson Screw down. I'm not all about that whole "milk comes in bags" thing. That's just not right

What's difference between philips 1,2 & 3 Screws? Where are they used & are all of them of different thickness?

ISO 1173 defines bit types, such as C or D. What you refer to are actually 'drivers.'

Can you insert a bit directly into the power drill without using the bit extension?
@RosaliesJourney
3 жыл бұрын
Hello 👋🏼. Technically yes you can. You would have to hold the bit and the drill in such a way to do so. I have had to do it when I’ve lost my bit extensions and needed to do a quick job. It can be done! But then you are also very limited with where and how far you can go. There’s so many situations. Great question. Have you tried it? I wouldn’t have the drill on the highest setting trying to do it.

I am in Lander WY... seems like most of the handy men and my husband ( who is now overseas) use the Star screws..I have 1 & 1/4 “, 2”, 3” and 4” leftovers. Do you like star screws?
@RosaliesJourney
5 жыл бұрын
Hey 👋🏼 Leslie. Yes Star screws. I have used them. I can’t say I have a full preference with them over the basic ones. I will say if there isn’t enough pressure when using them they can strip. But that kind of goes for any screw.

Thank you for this video! My constant frustration is that I purchase screwdriver kits with multiple size bits and usually 1 “adaptor”. For the LIFE of me I SO NOT UNDERSTAND how adaptors or just 1 adaptor works for all these different size bits. I get so frustrated and well…I feel stupid I’m not able to accomplish simplistic tasks. Can you create a video that explains these wacky adaptors for manual and battery operated screwdriver systems please? I always end up getting a bit stuck and can’t remove the thing! HELP! Thank you!

They're called driver bits and not drill bits. You do not drill with them, you drive screws with them. You also have Pozi drive screws which need a pozi drive bit to drive them in.
