this is not the cte system. cte is a visual perception method which does not require the use of ghost ball in any step. it starts at the center of the cue ball and uses the edges of the object ball and the edges of the cue ball as reference points. what you diagrammed will work for some shots but not all. when you use the cte line as a single reference then you are already very close to the right shot line. so its easy to adjust into the right shot line subconsciously. but this wont work for a lot of shots. when cte is used properly then it is very objective and very precise for all shots directly to a pocket. it is a good start though

***** thick? Well ok let's start with fuck off. Now that this is out of the way. My videos show the journey of understanding and discovery asking the way. They also contain disclaimers that I am not a teacher and they point towards the source. Some videos like this one are misleading in that they say"this is CTE" when it isn't and then do not point the viewer towards the source. This is not done maliciously it is simply not as helpful as needed because what is presented does work to some degree but is not the proper technique. So stating is as fact with no link to other students or links to the source is actually harmful to learning and mastering and sharing this method. When you title the video "understanding the center to edge method" and then use ghost Ball as fundamental point and then bring the edge of object ball into it last you have missed the entire point of center to edge aiming or any objective aiming method. And I don't need you to explain anything to me. I don't care why the ghost ball is there because the ghost ball has nothing to do with CTE and saying it does and telling people to use it is simply wrong. Plus it isn't a video on how it works it's a video with some instructions to follow which if followed would not help the shooter to learn CTE at all. It would work for some shots but not work for a lot of others.

CTE makes shots like these wayyy easier to pocket. You don’t even look at the point of contact more than once ... just set up and shoot once you know how much you’re supposed to hit

Lookup Shane Van doing shaft aiming system. He aims at the ends every time he shoots with a different section of his ferrule to achieve different angles. Makes aiming mich easier when all you have to do is aim one spot

That's what I thought. CTE is pretty much GUESSING, and there is no exact way to make it the system. You just have to "adjust into the right shot line subconsciously"... WTF? It seems like an utopia and pure delusion, what in fact it is - delusion. Not even close to the SYSTEM.

CTE is all about the Pivot; ...all systems have flaws: perception, sight, technique, visulization all play a role. I use one system for certian shots and another for certian cuts. most of these systems work great but begin to faill in real world scenarios due to compensations required LEARN THEM with proper practice! If it works better for me Only due to Placebo, IT Works Better. The pre-shot routine may quill the fundimental issues of aiming but not necessarily be the mathematical proof in 'contact points' and ball diameter many are looking for. No aiming system I know of has built in compensation, SAME in Chess; no system if full proof, the spanish system plays off a fundimental end game advantage, the stonewall another. But guess what; Grandmasters of the game KNOW ALL SYSTEMS; the fractional aiming system was born to take advantage of cut shots where you cannot see the contact points or the cut may be deceptive for a 'point to point' system; but not good for throw shots or backhand english shooters. CTE takes advantage of back hand english. And there is nothing scientific about over the table OTT decisions; thats what practice is for. once you know most systems you may choose to make your own like SBV did, or mix systems you prefer. You are building a repitior, ...Calculus is (algebra + Trig) ; you need to learn both not just jump to Cal for the sake of a universal method. It doesn't exist, and that is the Snake Oil, your lack of practice. Set up your weakest shot and do them 25 times a piece each, using one system then when dialed in, use another system for the same shots. I guarantee you won't give a shit what system is more 'complete' you will go with the one you prefer for that type of shot. I use the 'spot' to 'spot' shot drill as my testing of systems. Now; no matter what system I use I can make it 8 / 10 and won money on it proving this point having others shoot the shot for me 'their way' then under my instruction with a few different methods they like.

I think the best way is to learn the basics and do not stop practicing until it become your second nature. Everything starts in basic and develop your own way.

This is a misleading and wrong explanation of the CTE. Deserves all the dislikes it gets. Worst thing is, the aiming system explained here is just totally wrong. The cut angle here is 25 degree, but the video said you have to aim for the edge of the OB (which is true only if the cut angle is 30 degree). You will overcut the shot (will hit the right side of the pocket)! Instead, in this diagram you have to aim ~2.5mm inside of the edge of the OB from the center of the CB, or you can offset it by lining your sight with the right side of your shaft like SVB does.

There are no systems for aiming. They're all a gimmick, including (no, especially) CTE. Ask any pro and they will tell you that aiming is a visualization process highly reliant on feel. Players using CTE are the easiest to beat.
