a very informative and interesting interview. This explains a lot because most Jamaicans believe that revivalists are the same as pocomanians obeah workers and kumina. its unfortunate that revivalists are stigmatized with these practices because of how they are dressed and the difference in their worship than the main stream Christianity. It goes to show that before you form a belief or opinion about anything try to get as much factual information about it .

I don't think that's true. Where would they have gotten the word from? It doesn't come from English. Obeah is tied to African languages and cultures, either Akan or Igbo, most likely. The British mislabeled everything that was African derived as obeah and gave it its negative meaning.

what is the chanting, stomping and chopping of the hands really mean? That was a really good interview, man. Thanks for bringing that to us. Blessing and big up!!!
@ANTHONY-yu5ot
Жыл бұрын
You have to understand that when you are in spiritual warfare, you can't fight in the flesh, you have to fight in the spirit, therefore the chanting and chopping of hands is a way of paralyzing the evil ones, your hands become a sword in the spiritual realm, it is quite strange how people tend to put a scorn on revivalism and yet whenever when they are sick and no doctor can cure them, neither the church that they think is the right church at the end the day, it's the same revival church they have to find refuge to get healing, I know that's where my calling is, many people who have died could have been saved but because of their belief they perished, God already told us that we don't wrestle against flesh and blood but with principalities and powers in high places, many people scorn revivalism and at the same time they are practicing dangerous cultic behaviors to get rich and so on.

I have learned few thins, however I think that some of the other revivalist is not going to be happy. Because they do set up their tables with wine, different drinks. And you are saying they are poco🤔
@je6845
Жыл бұрын
When the Jews keep their Passover, they use wine. Wine is also a part of communion... God is the one who gives directions to His people.. He speaks to them in dreams and visions (Numbers 12:6) Therefore it is presumptuous and wrong to condemned what one has no knowledge of. Wine represent the blood of Jesus. He said so Himself... Drink this, it's my blood that is shed for you, He also said the bread represented His body... So to have bottles of wine and bread on a table can not be of an evil practice. Today the churches have watered down the communion with grape juice instead of wine and they wonder why they come to church sick and go back home sick. Where are the prophets and where are the apostles???... Just a lot of talk and criticism about Zion Churches and they're as helpless as babies

Great showing, sir Alrick! I urge Christians to READ our BIBLES n know this as well: Revivalism is syncretism (a mix/blend of God and other ancestral cultural practises). This is Something God warned the children of ISRAEL against- to put away the practise of their ancestors (fathers). Most of what revivalist believe and do is NOT biblical. They believe that the "spirit" reveals things- things that may not be biblical. 🤦🏽♀️ Trust me I know! I have family and friends a part of this group. I had to renounce this belief system. All the Indian, african and other nation spirits are demonic. The different colours and what they represent are also demonic. The setting: candle, water and flowers used are there to invoke other spirits. But they do not understand this and believe this is of God. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT COMPLETELY RULES THEIR WORSHIP. Not to mention pocomania, which is just a deeper form of the practise. Its more "afro centric".
@debra1984
2 жыл бұрын
Thats your believe! Candles are used in the catholic church flowers are in other churches. God said he has sheep and that are not of this flock. If disagree with there worship that ok but dont condemn them . I would like to know from you there are many nations who dont worship in the european manner do you consider them demonic. I think what we are not sure of leave it . Because we are taking up God duty to judge.
@deebrown3832
2 жыл бұрын
good hahaha! Whatever you have to say in defense of revivalism please come with scriptures. Since I don't know or understand. "Contend" for your faith, using scriptures please. The interviewee, all respect due, couldn't even give a good scripture concerning the beliefs. I do NOT have a problem with how any church, black white or pink in origin worship, as long as it lines up to what the bible says. If u reject the WORD of God I denounce your faith! Sister, remember I have good knowledge of this thing. So I'm aware of the "defense" used. Certainly "The other sheep" scripture you threw in, is out of context. My people perish because of lack of knowledge!!!!!! Get in the WORD!!! MOST revival people lack that zeal for the WORD. All the jumping, trumping and moving in the band's won't be a good argument judgement day. Trust me, it's a harsh reality. Seek the knowledge of God.

I think you need to visit the Church and learn and educate yourself of their practices before passing judgement based upon what your family and friends say. I am from a different religion and I will not accept 'hearsay' or 'judgment' about another person, belief, religion ect. I will educate myself on their tradition, beliefs, and or practices, instead of forming my own belief based off of implicit bias. I think constructive criticism along with civil discourse (based on your experience) is the way to go instead of forming your own "belief". Blessings 🙌🏿
@deebrown3832

@@colleyslimmaz4502 I've been a part of this church for some years now! One of the "cleanest" revival church, as you would call it. This has nothing to do with hearsay or passing judgment. I've lived it. That's y I can tell the difference between revivalism and poco mania. Now, I'm saying, my issue is from a biblical stand point. Not the working an the use of water an all that. Come with some biblical backing somebody, plz!!!! Then the conversation will make sense for me.
